John King RP | MIA
Rangers' John King: Picks up win
King (1-0) allowed one hit and struck out one in one inning to earn the extra-inning win Sunday versus the Orioles.
King worked the 10th inning and earned the win when Nate Lowe hit a walkoff single to give the Rangers a 1-0 victory. Through seven innings, King has been a bit generous with baserunners -- he's allowed 10 hits and a walk but only one earned run. He has a hold and a blown save in addition to Sunday's victory.

Zack Burdi RP | LAD
White Sox's Zack Burdi: Summoned from alternate site
The White Sox recalled Burdi from their alternate training site prior to the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Red Sox.
Burdi will give the Pale Hose another power arm out of the bullpen as the team looks to complete the doubleheader sweep after taking Game 1 by a score of 3-2. The White Sox cleared a spot on the active roster for Burdi by placing Lance Lynn (back) on the 10-day injured list. Burdi reached the majors for the first time in 2020 but was roughed up over his eight appearances, giving up nine earned runs on 11 hits, including four home runs.

Jordan Romano RP | COL
Blue Jays' Jordan Romano: Likely back after 10-day minimum
Romano (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list when eligible Saturday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
The 27-year-old landed on the injured list April 15 with right ulnar neuritis, but he's throwing a side session Sunday since it's apparently a minor issue. Romano should be back next weekend if he avoids any setbacks throughout the week. The right-hander could step in as Toronto's closer since Julian Merryweather (oblique) is likely facing a longer absence.

Hunter Harvey RP | CHC
Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Throwing again
Harvey (oblique) was able to play catch Sunday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Harvey's ability to throw off flat ground represents his first tangible sign of progress since being shut down in mid-March with a severe left oblique strain. The Orioles placed Harvey on the 60-day injured list as a result, making him ineligible to rejoin the big club until at least the second half of May. Provided Harvey experiences no setbacks while building back up following the injury, he should be able to return from the IL in close to the minimum 60 days. Once activated, Harvey could re-enter the Orioles' closing picture.

Nate Pearson RP | KC
Blue Jays' Nate Pearson: Throwing live BP on Tuesday
Pitching coach Pete Walker said Pearson (groin) "feels really good" and is scheduled to throw live batting practice Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
The 24-year-old has been throwing at 100 percent intensity since the start of last week, and he has another live batting practice session on tap Tuesday. Pearson began the season on the injured list after aggravating a groin injury in mid-March, but he appears to be closing in on his season debut.

Collin McHugh RP | ATL
Rays' Collin McHugh: Out with back strain
McHugh was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a strain in his lower back.
The 33-year-old apparently suffered the injury Saturday while recording only one out and surrendering one run on two hits. McHugh will be eligible to return April 28, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy at that point. Chris Mazza was recalled from the taxi squad in a corresponding move.

Cole Sulser RP | TB
Orioles' Cole Sulser: Rejoins big-league club
Sulser was recalled from the Orioles' alternate training site Sunday.
The 31-year-old joined Baltimore as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader, but he returned to the alternate site after delivering a scoreless frame. Sulser has a 5:0 K:BB through three innings across his first two appearances of the season.
-
Jonathan Stiever RP | CHW
White Sox's Jonathan Stiever: Called up for twin bill
Stiever was recalled from the alternate training site to serve as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader in Boston.
The 23-year-old missed out on the Opening Day roster but will join the big-league club Sunday for the first time this season. The White Sox have yet to announce their official starter for Game 2, but Stiever is a strong bet to take the mound with Dallas Keuchel starting the matinee. The young right-hander made his major-league debut last year and surrendered seven runs with a 3:4 K:BB over 6.1 innings.

Joe Jimenez RP | ATL
Tigers' Joe Jimenez: Off to rough start
Jimenez allowed two earned runs on four walks while retiring just two batters in Saturday's loss to the Athletics. He struck out one.
Since being recalled on Thursday, Jimenez has made two appearances, and he's allowed five earned runs across just one inning of work. Walks have been the biggest problem for the righty, as he's issued a whopping seven free passes to the 10 batters he's faced. Jimenez is going to have to pitch a lot better if he wants to stick in the majors. He should continue to work in a low-leverage role for the Tigers for now.

Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY
Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Working behind opener
Yarbrough is slated to serve as a bulk reliever behind opener Andrew Kittredge in Sunday's game against the Yankees, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
Each of Yarbrough's three appearances this season have come as a traditional starter, but the lefty is no stranger to working behind an opener. The opener arrangement will likely allow for Yarbrough to work deeper into the contest than he would if he were on the hill in the first inning, which should increase his chances of coming away with a win if he exits the contest with Tampa Bay in the lead.
