Santiago's contract was selected by the Mariners on Thursday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Santiago began the season with Triple-A Tacoma and posted a 4.50 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 14 innings across three starts. He's worked mainly as a reliever in the majors and should be a bullpen option after Yohan Ramirez and Wyatt Mills were optioned to Triple-A Tacoma as part of a corresponding move.

Tate (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Tate's activation was expected after he had been sidelined with a strained left hamstring since early May. The right-hander made one rehab appearance for Triple-A Norfolk and should serve as a middle reliever for Baltimore going forward.

Palumbo isn't expected to throw for at least two weeks due to a back strain, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Palumbo posted an 8.44 ERA and 2.44 WHIP in 5.1 innings across his first three appearances (two starts) with Triple-A Round Rock this season. However, the southpaw dealt with back injuries this spring that have apparently resurfaced, and he'll be shut down as a result. It's not yet clear when Palumbo could return to game action.

Speas was diagnosed Thursday with right elbow inflammation and will be shut down for the next four weeks before being re-evaluated, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Speas was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Frisco over the weekend due to the elbow issue. Though inflammation typically isn't viewed as a major injury, the Rangers may be inclined to take a more cautious approach with the 23-year-old, given that he underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2018.

The Royals announced Thursday that Bowlan is scheduled to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on his right elbow next week.

The procedure will likely sideline Bowlan for most, if not all, of the 2022 campaign as well. The 24-year-old right-hander is viewed as one of the top pitching prospects in the organization, and he was off to a hot start at Double-A Northwest Arkansas this season. Over his four starts spanning 17 innings, Bowlan posted a 1.59 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 25:3 K:BB.

Kay was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left finger blister Thursday, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

Kay was sent to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, but he'll technically join the minor-league club on a rehab assignment since the injury occurred in the majors, and teams can't option injured players. It seems likely that Kay will remain with the Triple-A club once he's fully healthy, and Alek Manoah will have a chance to earn the fifth spot in Toronto's rotation after his contract was selected Thursday.

Nelson will be recalled by the Yankees to serve as the 27th man in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Nelson was cast off the major-league roster in late April after he posted a 9.72 ERA and 1.92 WHIP in 8.1 innings across six appearances (one start) early in the season. He'll be available out of the bullpen for Thursday's nightcap but will likely return to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following the game.

Abreu was recalled by the Yankees on Thursday.

Abreu was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in mid May, but he'll return to the big-league club after Corey Kluber (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list as part of a corresponding move. Abreu should serve as a reliever once again, while Deivi Garcia is slated to take Kluber's place in the starting rotation.

Morgan will start Friday's game against the Blue Jays, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Morgan was protected from the Rule 5 draft in November, and he made three starts for Triple-A Columbus to begin the season. He posted a 3.95 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 13.2 innings during that time, and he'll now take the mound at home for Friday's series opener against Toronto.

Iglesias recorded a four-out save Wednesday against the Rangers after allowing one hit and fanning three across 1.1 innings.

Iglesias entered the game in the top of the eighth with two outs, and he induced Nick Solak into a groundout to end the inning. Even though he gave up a single to Nate Lowe to begin the ninth, Iglesias bounced back and struck out the rest of the batters he faced to earn his eighth save of the campaign. The right-hander has gone 4-for-4 in save chances while posting a 3.72 ERA across 9.2 innings during the current month.
