Alexander won't start as scheduled Sunday against the Royals since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Alexander was poised to make his second start of the season Sunday, but he'll instead be pushed back to later this week. According to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic, the left-hander is set to take the mound Tuesday against the Yankees following Monday's scheduled off day.

Sandlin (0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief Saturday against San Francisco after allowing two runs on two hits and a walk across one inning, striking out one.

Sandlin began the season with two scoreless outings but has been struggling since then, and he has allowed two earned runs in each of his last two appearances. He's sporting a 2:2 K:BB through 4.1 innings of work (four outings) and seems to be trending in the wrong direction of late.

Hendriks allowed two hits and a walk while striking out one across a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save Saturday against the Rays.

The inning wasn't quite as nerve wracking as the line would suggest, as the walk Hendriks surrendered was intentional. However, he did allow a leadoff single and another base knock two batters later. Though Hendriks has successfully converted four of his five save chances this season, he's allowed multiple hitters to reach base in all but one appearance. Positively, he still gets strikeouts when needed, as he's racked up nine strikeouts as opposed to one walk across his five frames.

Wells allowed three hits and struck out three in two scoreless innings in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Yankees.

Wells is considered an option to make a spot start in place of John Means (elbow) Monday versus the Athletics. It's unclear if his multi-inning appearance Saturday will change those plans. Wells made one start with Triple-A Norfolk before he was summoned to Baltimore last Monday. He covered four innings with three strikeouts, a walk and a hit. He threw 32 pitches (29 strikes) Saturday, and even if he doesn't start, the southpaw could work in tandem with another pitcher as the Orioles try to patch the holes in their rotation.

Lakins (0-1) allowed four runs on five hits and a walk in one inning, taking the loss versus the Yankees on Saturday.

Lakins entered the game after a weather delay, and the Yankees promptly pummeled him. Josh Donaldson dealt the biggest blow with a two-run home run. That's not a great season debut for Lakins, who struggled to a 5.79 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 24:17 K:BB in 28 innings last year. He's been a reliever for most of his time at the upper levels of the minors, so he'll probably be limited to a multi-inning role while with the Orioles this season.

Hearn (0-1) took the loss against the Angels on Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out four.

Hearn made it through his first two frames without incident before serving up three runs on four singles and a walk in the top of the third. Texas bounced back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame, and Hearn was pulled in the fourth after giving up a two-out single. The southpaw hasn't yet pitched into the fifth inning this season, but he's at least posted a solid strikeout total with 10 across 7.2 frames. He's tentatively expected to take the mound on the road against Oakland on Friday.

Holmes earned the save against the Orioles on Saturday, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings during which he struck out one and didn't allow any hits or walks.

Holmes recorded the final out of the eighth inning, escaping an Orioles threat during which they brought the potential tying run to the plate. With usual closer Aroldis Chapman having pitched each of the past two days, manager Aaron Boone opted to leave Holmes in to close things out in the ninth. That proved to be a good call, as the right-hander got three quick outs for the first save of his career. Holmes recorded a career-best 12 holds in 2021 and has already picked up two this season, so he is clearly becoming a trusted bullpen arm for the Yankees. However, Chapman isn't in imminent danger of losing his ninth-inning role, so Holmes shouldn't be expected to find himself in many additional save situations moving forward.

Barlow logged 1.1 scoreless innings Saturday versus the Tigers. He allowed one hit and struck out two to earn a hold.

Barlow entered the campaign as the Royals' primary closer, but he's yet to record a save in four appearances. He has a win and and a hold while allowing just one run, four hits and a 6:1 K:BB across 4.2 innings. The right-hander is doing well, and the save chances should follow, but it appears manager Mike Matheny is opting to deploy Barlow at the most important moments in a game rather than just in the ninth inning. Josh Staumont pitched a scoreless inning to earn the first save by any Royals pitcher this season.

Snider (2-0) earned the win Saturday versus the Tigers. He allowed a hit and struck out one in 1.2 scoreless innings.

Snider has kept runs off the board in all four of his appearances this season, and he's earned the win in two of them. He was able to get the last two outs of the fifth inning and then also pitched the sixth Saturday. The 26-year-old right-hander has added four strikeouts and has yet to walk a batter through four innings. Snider is still likely to see work in the middle innings, but he's quickly building trust with good performances.

Staumont struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his first save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Tigers.

Scott Barlow came into the year as the presumed closer for manager Mike Matheny, but it was Staumont who got the Royals' first save of 2022 while Barlow entered the game with two outs and one on in the seventh inning to pick up a hold. Both right-handers had worked the day before, so it seems clear they are the top two arms in the Kansas City bullpen for now, but if Barlow gets deployed in more of a fireman role, Staumont's fantasy value will rise quickly.
