Diekman allowed three runs on three hits while striking out two over two-thirds of an inning, picking up a blown save, in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Blue Jays.

The Red Sox were in position to snap a three-game losing streak, but Diekman served up a two-run, game-tying home run to George Springer in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was the second consecutive game in which Diekman was unable to shut the door, though Boston escaped with a win last Friday.

Santana struck out one over a scoreless inning in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Astros.

Santana worked a scoreless ninth inning in his second game back after spending time on the COVID-19-related injury list. After getting tagged with a loss in his first outing of the season, Santana has made four consecutive scoreless appearances. He's been deployed in the last third of games but is not considered a candidate to close out games when Texas is leading.

Burke allowed one hit and struck out two over two scoreless innings in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Astros.

The Rangers' bats took a holiday Tuesday -- just three hits -- but manager Chris Woodward got strong work from the bullpen. This was the fourth time in six outings that Burke has thrown multiple innings, and the 25-year-old lefty is thriving. He's allowed two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out 16 over 9.2 innings.

Iglesias saved Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Guardians, striking out both batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Los Angeles entered the ninth with a 4-0 lead, but a one-out Jose Ramirez RBI double prompted manager Joe Maddon to call in his closer with the game now a save situation. Iglesias stuck out Franmil Reyes and Owen Miller on nine pitches to record his fourth save in what is already his eighth appearance. The 32-year-old has now retired 23 of the 25 batters he's faced on the season.

Hearn (0-2) picked up a loss after he pitched five innings, giving up four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four against the Astros on Tuesday.

Hearn put together his longest outing of the season, tossing five innings for the first time this year. Overall though, it was another difficult outing for the 27-year-old as he gave up one run in the second inning on a Jeremy Pena single and three more in the fourth inning after Alex Bregman scored on a groundout and Kyle Tucker launched a two-run homer. He now has a 0-2 record with a 7.47 ERA and 1.98 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 15.2 innings in four starts. Hearn will look to get his first win of the campaign when he takes on the Braves in his next expected start Sunday.

Pagan blew a save opportunity after he pitched two-thirds of an inning, surrendering one run on a hit and two walks while striking out one in Tuesday's win over the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.

After Caleb Thielbar allowed two Tigers to reach base in the top of the eighth inning, Pagan was called upon to protect the Twins' 3-1 lead with one out in the frame. He proceeded to give up a three-run homer to Javier Baez, the first batter he faced, and walked two more batters before the inning was over. The blown save was Pagan's first of the season and he is now 2-for-3 in save opportunities.

Soto (1-1) allowed two runs (none earned) on a hit, two walks and a wild pitch in Tuesday's loss to the Twins. He retired one batter via strikeout.

Soto didn't help his cause with the walks or the wild pitch, but the game ended on a two-run throwing error by catcher Eric Haase, giving the Twins a wild 5-4 win and the lefty his first blown save of the year. Despite the setback, Soto has been pretty good this season with three saves in four chances to go with a 1.50 ERA. He should retain a decent hold on closing duties in Detroit, with righty Michael Fulmer also available for certain matchups.

Fleming (2-2) received the loss after allowing seven runs (none earned) on four hits, a walk and a hit batsman in two innings of an 8-4 defeat Tuesday against Seattle.

For the second time this season, Fleming served as the primary pitcher after Matt Wisler opened the game. The lefty Fleming entered the game to begin the third inning and retired all three batters via groundouts. The wheels came off in the fourth inning as Fleming was hit hard and Tampa Bay committed costly errors on consecutive plays, leading to seven unearned runs. All in all, he faced 11 batters and needed 44 pitches to complete the frame. While some of the issues Tuesday could be pinned on the Rays' defense, Fleming has struggled this season, allowing 18 hits in 12 innings.

Martinez was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Martinez was unable to crack Houston's Opening Day roster but will now join the big club a few weeks into the season. He made his MLB debut with three appearances last year and had a strong campaign at Sugar Land with a 2.81 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 78:20 K:BB over 57.2 innings.

Richardson has allowed one unearned run in 16.2 innings in three starts for Double-A Wichita with a 14:4 K:BB.

Richardson had a 5.76 ERA with a troubling 5.2 BB/9 at Double-A New Hampshire before his trade to Minnesota from Toronto last season. He threw just eight innings for Wichita after the trade as he spent time on the U.S. Olympic team. It's just three starts, but his improved control is an encouraging sign.
