Murfee, who fired a perfect sixth inning during which he recorded a strikeout in a loss to the Phillies on Monday, has now logged 7.2 scoreless, hitless frames across his first five big-league appearances.

The rookie couldn't have fashioned a better start to his big-league career, as he also boasts a sparkling 10:1 K:BB. Murfee also recorded eight scoreless, one-hit frames in five appearances for Triple-A Tacoma before his April 28 promotion, giving him an impeccable body of work thus far in 2022.

The Orioles recalled Lakins from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Lakins never reported to Norfolk after he was optioned to the affiliate following Sunday's doubleheader, as he was instead included on the Orioles' taxi squad ahead of their three-game series in St. Louis. He'll end up rejoining the 26-man active roster after fellow reliever Jorge Lopez (personal) was placed on the bereavement list. Lopez is expected to miss at least the next three games, but if he rejoins the Orioles this weekend in Detroit, Lakins will be the logical candidate to move back off the active roster.

The Orioles placed Lopez on the bereavement list Tuesday.

Per MLB rules, players placed on the bereavement list aren't eligible to be activated for at least three days and can stay on the list for a maximum of seven days, so at the very least, Lopez won't be available for the Orioles' three-game series with the Cardinals that begins Tuesday. While Lopez is sidelined, Dillon Tate is the most likely candidate to handle closing duties for the Orioles; he's recorded the only Baltimore save this season that that hasn't gone to Lopez, who has recorded four.

The Athletics recalled Martinez from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of his scheduled start in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader in Detroit.

He'll be designated as the Athletics' 27th man for what will be his MLB debut, meaning Martinez will most likely be sent back to Las Vegas immediately after the doubleheader. Through his five starts at Las Vegas this season spanning 19.1 innings, Martinez has submitted a 7.45 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 25:9 K:BB.

Jackson secured his fifth hold in a win over the Tigers on Monday, firing 1.1 perfect innings during which he recorded two strikeouts.

The right-hander had his first true stumble of the season Wednesday against the Rays when he allowed three earned runs over two-thirds of an inning, but he's bounced back with back-to-back scoreless appearances. Jackson has been thrown right into the mix by manager Mark Kotsay, already logging 14 appearances over the Athletics' first 29 games after combining for just 25 between Double-A Midland and Triple-A Las Vegas last season.

Kelly allowed two hits and struck out one across a scoreless inning to record a hold Monday against the Guardians.

Kelly made his White Sox debut after beginning the season on the injured list due to a biceps strain. He entered the game in the seventh inning with a three-run lead and surrendered two singles but got out of the jam unscathed. Kelly figures to maintain a high-leverage role in the Chicago bullpen, but he is unlikely to draw regular save chances.

Burke allowed one hit and one walk while striking out five over 2.2 innings of relief in Monday's 1-0 loss to the Yankees.

Burke got the call after starter Jon Gray exited mid-fifth inning with soreness in his left knee. On short notice, Burke entered with one out and one runner on. He gave up a hit and a walk to the first two batters faced before fanning Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo with the bases juiced. The left-hander followed that by getting the next six hitters (retired eight straight overall) and departed with yet another sterling effort out of the bullpen. Burke, a starter in the minors, is thriving as a reliever. He's allowed four runs (three earned) on 14 hits and four walks while striking out 26 over 16.2 relief innings.

Clase (1-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit and a walk in Monday's win over the White Sox. He pitched one inning and picked up a win despite blowing a save chance.

Clase coughed up a game-tying run in the bottom of the 10th inning but was credited with a win after Josh Naylor belted a go-ahead shot in the 11th. The 24-year-old righty lowered his ERA to 2.92 through 12.2 frames. Clase had tossed 6.2 scoreless innings since blowing his last save on April 23.

Stephan struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over the White Sox on Monday.

Stephan worked a clean 11th inning to convert his first save chance of the year. The 26-year-old is sporting an impressive 15:3 K:BB and 1.35 ERA through 13.1 innings. He'll maintain a late-inning role but won't see many save chances behind Emmanuel Clase.

Hendriks allowed two runs on two hits in Monday's loss to the Guardians. He recorded one out and was charged with a blown save.

The White Sox entered the ninth inning with an 8-2 lead but Hendriks was called in after Tanner Banks struggled. The veteran righty proceeded to serve up a grand slam to Josh Naylor to send the game to extra innings. His ERA jumped to 4.61 through 13.2 innings after blowing a save for the first time since his season debut.
