White Sox manager Tony La Russa suggested that Graveman will get the opportunity to serve as the team's closer if a save situation arises in Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

After All-Star closer Liam Hendriks (forearm) was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Graveman went unused in the White Sox's 5-1 win, but he might not have been available after pitching three of the past four days. The White Sox didn't have a save situation materialize anyway Tuesday, but Graveman will be good to go Wednesday and should be ready to close if needed. Joe Kelly (hamstring) returned from the IL on Tuesday and struck out two over a scoreless frame and could also factor into the closer conversation while Hendriks is sidelined, but the White Sox will stay away from using Kelly on back-to-back days initially.

Miller is listed as the Rangers' starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Astros in Arlington.

Before he was called up to the big leagues last Friday, Miller started in four of his 12 appearances at Triple-A Round Rock, striking out 50 over 37.2 innings but struggling in the ratio categories (5.02 ERA, 1.56). The same day as his promotion, Miller made his Rangers debut in long relief and ceded one earned run over 2.1 innings. With Glenn Otto (illness) on the COVID-19-related injured list, Miller will now get the chance to enter the rotation, but the Rangers aren't likely to let the right-hander work much more than four or five innings Wednesday.

Clase pitched a clean 10th inning with no strikeouts to pick up his 12th save of the year in a 4-3, extra-inning win over the Rockies on Tuesday.

Clase was brought in to close out the game in the 10th inning, after the Guardians went ahead on a Jose Ramirez RBI double. Clase continues to motor along as the Guardians' closer and has now converted his last five save opportunities dating back to May 14. He boasts a 10.3 K/9 rate and sports a 1.90 xFIP to back up his excellent 1.78 ERA.

Pressly pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 12th save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Rangers on Tuesday.

The Astros closer gave up a couple of hits but managed to induce soft contact with runners on to get out of the inning unscathed. Pressly now has 12 saves on the year, a number which ties him for eighth overall. When healthy, Pressly has impressed in the closer role. He has converted nine straight save opportunities dating back to May 7.

Lopez recorded his ninth save of the season in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays, striking out one over 1.2 perfect innings of relief.

After Cionel Perez ran into trouble in the eighth inning and allowed Toronto to get within a run, Lopez got the call to put out the fire and tossed an efficient 17 pitches (11 strikes) to secure the save. The converted starter hasn't given up an earned run in nearly a month, and while Lopez's 0.88 ERA and 0,88 WHIP through 30.2 innings aren't supported by his 23.1 percent strikeout rate and 10.7 percent walk rate, he continues to be very effective as Baltimore's closer.

Pivetta (6-5) earned the win Tuesday against the A's after giving up one run on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks over eight innings.

The right-hander kept Oakland off the board through seven frames, but Stephen Vogt broke the shutout with a solo homer during the eighth inning. Still, it was another dominant outing for Pivetta, who has a 1.83 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 51:12 K:BB across his past eight outings. He tentatively lines up for a matchup versus the Cardinals on Sunday.

Winckowski will be recalled from Triple-A Worcester to start Wednesday's game against the A's, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

The Red Sox have openings in their starting rotation with Nathan Eovaldi (back) and Garrett Whitlock (hip) on the injured list, and Winckowski will be called up Wednesday for his second start of the season. The 23-year-old made his MLB debut in late May and allowed four runs on six hits with four strikeouts and three walks across three innings. He has a 3.38 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 43:8 K:BB over 42.2 innings for Worcester this year and could receive a longer look in Boston's rotation this time around.

Holmes earned the save, striking out two and allowing a hit in the ninth inning of a 2-0 win Tuesday over the Rays.

Holmes struck out the first two batters he faced before allowing a single and ending the game with a flyout. The righty is now 10-for-10 in save opportunities and has a minuscule 0.30 ERA through 29.2 innings. Since allowing a run on Opening Day, he has tossed 29 consecutive scoreless frames.

Barnes (shoulder) has been able to play catch at the Red Sox's spring training facility in Florida but has not yet thrown a bullpen session, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Barnes struggled to a 7.94 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 14:12 K:BB in his first 20 outings of the season before hitting the injured list at the start of June with shoulder inflammation. He's making progress in his recovery, but since he's not working out in Boston and still has several more hurdles to clear, he doesn't appear especially close to being activated.

Taylor (back) will throw live batting practice Wednesday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Taylor has been out all year with a strained lower back. He'd embarked on a rehab assignment back in mid-April but paused it in early May. He's been throwing again for roughly a month now, however, so another rehab assignment could be coming soon, though the Red Sox haven't specified when that could happen.
