Vest was optioned to Triple-A Toledo following Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Guardians, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Vest has been a reliable reliever for the Tigers so far this season, as he's posted a 3.41 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with a 32:11 K:BB across 29 frames in 2022. He'll be sent to Triple-A to make room for the addition of Drew Hutchison, who is scheduled to start Tuesday's contest.

Jimenez pitched a perfect ninth inning in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Guardians to earn the save. He struck out one.

The Tigers used regular closer Gregory Soto to lock down a win in Game 1, so they turned to Jimenez in the nightcap. The righty looked good, retiring the side on just 11 pitches. Jimenez has been solid this season with a 3.23 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 40 strikeouts across 30.2 innings. Along with Soto, he's a candidate to get traded to a contender that needs bullpen help before the deadline next month.

Fleming (2-4) allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits over five innings Monday, striking out four and taking a loss against Boston.

Fleming took the mound after two shutout frames from Jalen Beeks. Trevor Story broke the scoreless tie with his solo shot in the fourth inning. Fleming then gave up another run in the fifth and two more in the eighth. Despite posting a 2.36 ERA through 45.2 frames with Triple-A Durham this season, the 26-year-old owns a 6.17 ERA at the MLB level. Fleming will likely head back to the minors.

Beeks allowed two hits and a walk over two shutout innings as the opener in Monday's loss to Boston. He struck out two batters.

After a perfect first inning, Beeks found himself in a two-out, bases-loaded jam in the second. He was able to escape unscathed before turning the ball over to Josh Fleming. The 28-year-old southpaw lowered his ERA to 2.55 with a 43:12 K:BB through 21 appearances. Beeks had given up six runs over his last three outings.

Garcia (back) struck out two batters Monday in his rehab appearance for Triple-A Buffalo and could be activated from the 15-day injured list within the next few days, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.

According to Longley, manager Charlie Montoyo was impressed with Garcia's first rehab appearance, and he noted that it's possible Garcia could rejoin the team in Seattle, meaning Monday would serve as his lone outing in the minors. The Blue Jays will likely check in on the right-hander Tuesday to ensure he's feeling strong before making a decision on whether he'll require another appearance in the minors.

Schreiber struck out one batter over 1.2 perfect innings en route to picking up a save Monday in the Red Sox's 4-0 win over the Rays.

Schreiber entered the game with Boston up 2-0, then received a couple of extra insurance runs from his teammates in the bottom of the eighth before finishing off the victory in the top of the ninth. He's riding a 14.2-inning scoreless streak since the start of June, lowering his season ERA to 0.66 with a 32:6 K:BB across 28 appearances. Monday's save was his third of the year and first since June 21. Since Tanner Houck made appearances both of the previous two days, Schreiber may have received the save chance Monday so that Houck could get a chance to rest.

Gage was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Gage had given up just one run over his last five appearances (5.1 innings), but he'll head to the minors to make room for Anthony Banda, who was recently acquired in a trade with the Pirates.

Howard will be called up from Triple-A Round Rock to start Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Joseph Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Howard hasn't appeared in a big-league game since late April, but he'll get another shot at the top level after posting a 1.59 ERA, 0.53 WHIP and 25:3 K:BB in 17.0 innings over his last three starts with Triple-A Round Rock. He'll be joining the rotation as a replacement for Taylor Hearn, who was sent to Round Rock last week.

Pilkington will start the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Pilkington was sent to Triple-A Columbus after his last start, but he will rejoin the big club Monday and make his seventh start for the Guardians this season. He faced Detroit on May 26 and allowed three earned runs and 11 runners to reach base before exiting the game after 3.1 innings.

Soto worked around two walks to pitch a scoreless ninth inning and earn the save in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Guardians.

Working with a 4-1 lead, Soto made things interesting by allowing the tying run to come to the plate. However, the lefty induced an Owen Miller groundout to end the game. Soto has been mostly effective this year with 16 saves in 18 opportunities to go along with a 2.48 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 30 strikeouts across 29 innings. The Tigers will likely get some calls on their top reliever leading up to the trade deadline.
