Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Returning to lineup
Manager Dusty Baker said Alvarez (wrist) will rejoin the Houston lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Houston's lineup likely won't be formally released until a few hours prior to Tuesday's 8:10 p.m. ET opening pitch, but Alvarez will presumably slot back into the starting nine as the Astros' designated hitter. The 23-year-old had been held out of action for five consecutive games with a sore right wrist, but he looks like he'll avoid a stint on the injured list.

Zack Collins C | CLE
White Sox's Zack Collins: Plates two in first game
Collins went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in the first game of Monday's doubleheader against Cleveland.
Collins snapped an 11-game run without an RBI and entered the contest batting .111 (3-for-27) during that drought. The White Sox have been pleased with the advancements he's made defensively, but Collins has not shown any improvement with the bat. He has a .622 OPS with 28 strikeouts over 72 at-bats.

Kyle Lewis DH | ARI
Mariners' Kyle Lewis: Troubled by knee in Monday's win
Lewis was removed in the top of the ninth inning of Monday's 6-5 win over the Athletics in 10 innings due to right knee discomfort, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI double before departing.
The injury is somewhat disconcerting for Lewis, who missed the tail end of spring training and the first three weeks of the regular season with the same issue. The Mariners will likely send Lewis in for further evaluation and potentially an MRI before the team has more information on the extent of the setback. Jarred Kelenic shifted over from left field to center once Lewis exited the contest.

Bryce Harper 1B | PHI
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Unlikely to return Wednesday
Phillies manager Joe Girardi said Harper (forearm) is unlikely to return from the 10-day injured list Wednesday when first eligible, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Harper was able to do some light hitting Monday, but he apparently needs more time to heal after he was placed on the shelf last Tuesday with a left forearm bruise. The 28-year-old's ongoing absence should continue to open up more reps in right field for Matt Joyce and Brad Miller.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Sits in NL park
Ohtani is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The Angels won't have the designated hitter available for their two-game set in San Francisco, so Ohtani will be on the bench Monday, and most likely Tuesday as well. Manager Joe Maddon suggested Ohtani could come off the bench as a pinch-hitter and possibly play a couple innings in the outfield late in the contest if the Angels need his powerful bat in the lineup.
-
Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Another multi-hit effort Sunday
Carpenter went 2-for-4 with two doubles in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Operating out of the leadoff spot for the first time all season, Carpenter came through with his second and third doubles of his last two starts. The struggling veteran has actually boosted his batting average 38 points with his pair of multi-hit efforts in that span, but his season slash line still sits at an unacceptable .151/.292/.304 across 96 plate appearances.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Returns to lineup
Martinez (foot) is starting Monday's game against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Martinez was held out of Sunday's lineup after he fouled a ball off his left foot Saturday. However, he'll serve as the designated hitter and bat third Monday.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Unavailable Monday
Manager Dusty Baker said Monday that Alvarez (wrist) will remain unavailable for the series opener against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Baker said Sunday that he didn't think Alvarez would play Monday, and this confirms that the slugger will indeed miss his fifth straight game with the wrist issue. Alvarez will seek to return to the lineup Tuesday.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Reds' Jesse Winker: Not starting Monday
Winker isn't starting Monday's game against the Phillies.
Winker had gone 7-for-19 with three runs, an RBI, three walks and two strikeouts across his last five games. Shogo Akiyama will take over in left field and bat eighth.
