Luis Torrens DH | NYM
Mariners' Luis Torrens: Swats homer in win
Torrens went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Rays.
Torrens was the only Mariner to get to Shane McClanahan on Sunday when he began the third by taking the rookie left-hander deep to center for an early 1-0 lead. The 25-year-old has three homers in five games since returning from Triple-A Tacoma on June 15. For the season, he's slashing .217/.257/.415 with five long balls, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored. Torrens currently appears to be in a timeshare behind the plate with Tom Murphy but could eventually gain an edge if he continues his hitting surge moving forward.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Knocks 10th homer
Buxton went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double in Sunday's 4-2 win over Texas.
In his second game back from a hip injury, the center fielder reached double digits in homers for the year. He's gone 3-for-9 since he was activated from the injured list. Buxton started the year hot and looks ready to resume his strong work at the dish. He's slashing .371/.408/.794 with 10 long balls, 19 RBI, 21 runs scored and five stolen bases across 107 plate appearances.

Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Indians' Harold Ramirez: Launches another homer
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a home run in Sunday's win over the Pirates.
Ramirez now has three homers over his last two days and continues to make a strong case for an everyday role moving forward. The 26-year-old's fantasy appeal has been limited due to his inconsistent role all season long, but he's hitting .326 across 46 at-bats this month.

Brad Miller DH | SD
Phillies' Brad Miller: Sitting against lefty
Miller is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The Phillies are facing a left-handed starting pitcher for the second game in a row, so the lefty-hitting Miller will once again take a seat. The righty-hitting Luke Williams will pick up another start at second base, but it's unclear whether he'll be the full-time starter at the position while Jean Segura (groin) is on the shelf, or if he'll fill the short side of a platoon with Miller.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Set to pitch Wednesday
Ohtani will make his next start on the mound Wednesday against the Giants.
The 26-year-old last pitched Thursday and delivered a quality start against the Tigers, and he'll take the mound Wednesday on five days rest. Ohtani will continue to serve as the Halos' designated hitter in the meantime, and he's batting second Sunday versus Detroit.
-
Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: On bench versus righty
Carpenter is out of the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader with Atlanta.
The lefty-hitting Carpenter will be on the bench for the fourth time in six games, despite a right-hander (Bryse Wilson) being on the hill for Atlanta. Carpenter is no lock to rejoin the lineup for the nightcap with southpaw Drew Smyly starting for Atlanta, and at this point, the 35-year-old may have lost out on primary duties at the keystone to Edmundo Sosa.

Michael Brantley LF | HOU
Astros' Michael Brantley: Doubles, knocks in pair
Brantley went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 7-3 win over the White Sox.
Brantley smacked a double off Lance Lynn in the fourth inning, scoring Myles Straw. He added a single in the third frame, knocking in Jose Altuve and later scoring himself. The 34-year-old leads the Astros with a .338/.381/.502 slash line and his batting average is the best in the American League. Although he's getting on base at one of the highest rates of his career, his power numbers are down with just four long balls to this point in the season.
-
Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Royals' Jorge Soler: Out of Sunday's lineup
Soler is not in the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.
Soler started the past six games and will take a seat after going 4-for-19 with a double, five walks and an RBI. Carlos Santana will serve as the designated hitter while Hunter Dozier covers first base.
-
Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Indians' Harold Ramirez: Blasts two home runs
Ramirez went 2-for-4 with two home runs in Saturday's loss against the Pirates.
Ramirez socked two solo homers, taking Wil Crowe deep in the second inning and Richard Rodriguez deep in the ninth. He now has five homers on the season, and three of them have come this month. His fantasy appeal has been limited by an inconsistent role, but he could be in line for increased playing time given that he is hitting .333 this month across 42 at-bats.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Power surge continues
Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 8-3 win over Detroit.
The 26-year-old has now blasted five homers and driven in seven in his last five games. The only time Ohtani didn't homer in that span was his pitching start versus Detroit on Thursday. The two-way star is hitting .272/.356/.643 with 22 homers, 52 RBI, 47 runs scored and 10 stolen bases through 267 plate appearances.
