Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Indians' Franmil Reyes: Records rare steal
Reyes went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the White Sox.
The slugger isn't known for his speed, but he's now successfully stolen three bases this season. Reyes is 8-for-16 with three home runs and a double across his last four games. Cleveland's primary designated hitter owns a .275/.324/.603 slash line with 20 homers, 51 RBI and 34 runs scored through 243 plate appearances.

Darin Ruf DH | MIL
Giants' Darin Ruf: Fills stat sheet in win
Ruf went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-3 win over Houston.
The 35-year-old put San Francisco ahead with an RBI single in the third inning, then added insurance with a two-run blast in the fifth. Ruf has hit safely in seven straight games, going 10-for-28 (.357) in that span. He's homered in back-to-back contests, giving him 12 on the year. He's added 29 RBI, 32 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases, although he's not much of a speed threat. Ruf is likely to remain in a near-everyday role at first base until Brandon Belt (knee) can return, which is expected within a week to 10 days.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Plates four Sunday
Turner went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and RBI and a strikeout in a 13-0 triumph over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Turner singled and scored in the second as part of a five-run inning and launched a home run off Arizona reliever Ryan Buchter in the seventh. The veteran third baseman started August with his second four-RBI game of the season -- both against Arizona -- after concluding July with a .326/.402/.584 slash line.

Michael Brantley LF | HOU
Astros' Michael Brantley: X-rays negative
Brantley (ankle) underwent X-rays after Sunday's loss to the Giants that came back negative, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports. He went 1-for-2 with a run scored before exiting the contest.
Brantley was removed from Sunday's game in the bottom of the third inning due to right ankle discomfort, but he doesn't appear to be dealing with any structural damage. Manager Dusty Baker said that he doesn't think the outfielder will require time on the injured list, and he's currently considered day-to-day.

Michael Brantley LF | HOU
Astros' Michael Brantley: Leaves with ankle injury
Brantley was removed from Sunday's game against the Giants with right ankle discomfort, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Brantley went 1-for-2 with a run before being replaced in the left field to open the bottom of the third inning. The severity of the injury remains unclear, but the 34-year-old will have Monday's scheduled off day to aid in his recovery before potentially missing additional time.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Undergoes MRI
McCutchen (knee) underwent an MRI on Sunday, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
McCutchen exited Saturday's loss to the Pirates with a left knee issue, and he was held out of the lineup Sunday. Manager Joe Girardi said that the team is still waiting on results from the outfielder's exam, and a timetable for his return isn't yet known.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Won't pitch until at least Thursday
Angels manager Joe Maddon said that Ohtani, who is managing a sore thumb, won't be available to pitch again until at least Thursday in the finale of Los Angeles' upcoming series with the Rangers, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The injury doesn't affect Ohtani at the plate, so he'll remain in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against Oakland as the Angels' designated hitter. Before the Angels pencil Ohtani back into their pitching schedule, he'll presumably need to complete a bullpen session without any discomfort. If Ohtani isn't deemed ready to pitch in Arlington, Maddon said the right-hander could rejoin the rotation for the Angels' Freeway Series with the Dodgers next weekend.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Takes seat with no DH available
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.
Alvarez started in left field in the series opener Friday in San Francisco and went 0-for-4 with a walk, but he'll be on the bench for the second day in a row as the Astros make defense more of a priority in the corner-outfield spots. After Sunday's series finale, Houston will play games in Los Angeles against the Dodgers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Alvarez could be in store for another off day or two with no designated hitter available in the National League park.
-
Alex Dickerson DH | ATL
Giants' Alex Dickerson: Remains on bench Sunday
Dickerson is not in the lineup Sunday against the Astros, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Dickerson has regularly sat versus left-handed starters this year, but he's now sitting for the second straight game against a righty and for the third consecutive contest overall. The 30-year-old is 0-for-15 in his past seven contests and has a .687 OPS for the season. LaMonte Wade will start in left field Sunday as Dickerson appears to be losing his grip on a starting role.

Luis Torrens DH | NYM
Mariners' Luis Torrens: On bench Sunday
Torrens is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.
Cal Raleigh is catching, Ty France is playing first base and Mitch Haniger is serving as the designated hitter in the series finale, closing off all of Torrens' avenues to the lineup. The 25-year-old has supplied a .758 OPS since the All-Star break and should still have a fairly clear path to a near-everyday role.
