  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

    Indians' Harold Ramirez: Sitting Monday

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Ramirez will take a seat after he went 3-for-10 with a solo home run while starting each of Cleveland's last three contests. Oscar Mercado will spell Ramirez in left field on Monday.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: X-rays on tap

Belt (hand) will get X-rays in San Francisco and it's unclear if he will be ready for the series against Arizona that begins Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

He was hit on the hand by a 93-mile-per-hour fastball while attempting a bunt in Sunday's game against the Rockies and was removed from the contest, going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored before departing. Belt underwent a scan after the game that was inconclusive, so the X-rays he will get Monday should shed light on the severity of the injury.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Homers in loss

Buxton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Blue Jays.

The Twins struggled to generate a ton of offense but Buxton at least got his bat going with a solo shot to center field in the fifth. It was the second home run hit in the last three games for him and his sixth overall this month. The 27-year-old has shown some solid power throughout September but has struggled overall at the plate. In 28 games since returning from the injured list, Buxton is slashing .215/.282/.449 with 13 extra-base hits, nine RBI, 18 runs scored, two steals and 8:31 BB:K.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Fans 10 across seven frames

Ohtani got a no-decision in Sunday's 5-1 loss to Seattle, allowing one run on five hits with 10 strikeouts in seven innings.

Ohtani shut down Seattle all game and surrendered his lone run on a Jarred Kelenic solo shot in the seventh. Unfortunately, Seattle starter Marco Gonzales matched Ohtani's stellar performance and the Mariners eventually prevailed when the game turned over to the bullpens. The 27-year-old has now gone at least seven innings in three of his last four starts and is demonstrating an increasingly rare skill for pitching deep into games. No announcement has been made regarding whether Ohtani will pitch again this season.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Indians' Harold Ramirez: Homers in loss

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the White Sox.

The 27-year-old went yard in the eighth inning, but that was Cleveland's last run in the contest. Ramirez has posted multiple hits in three of his last eight games, but his homer Sunday was his first since June 20. For the year, he has a .267/.306/.406 slash line with seven long balls, 38 RBI, 33 runs scored and three stolen bases. He continues to be Cleveland's preferred left fielder versus right-handed pitching, while Oscar Mercado has served more often as a fourth outfielder.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Exits after pitch hits thumb

Belt left Sunday's game against the Rockies after getting hit in the left thumb by a pitch, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Belt initially remained in the game to run the bases but was replaced by Wilmer Flores when the Giants took the field. The severity of the injury is not yet clear, but Belt will get at least one day to rest, as the Giants have a scheduled off day Monday.

  • Luis Torrens DH | NYM

Mariners' Luis Torrens: Takes seat Sunday

Torrens is on the bench for Sunday's series finale in Oakland.

Torrens is hitting .300 with a home run and five RBI in his last 10 games after a hitless showing Saturday. Mitch Haniger is the designated hitter Sunday while Jake Bauers gets a start in right field.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Hammers pair of homers

Belt went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 7-2 win over Colorado.

The first baseman opened the scoring with a first-inning solo shot before giving San Francisco the lead again with a three-run blast in the fifth. In the process, Belt helped the 2021 Giants tie and then set the franchise record for homers in a season -- the team now has 236 and counting with a week left in the campaign. Individually, it's been a career year in the power department for Belt, who has 29 long balls and a .593 slugging percentage with 59 RBI, 64 runs scored and three stolen bases in just 96 contests.

  • Brent Rooker DH | ATH

Twins' Brent Rooker: Not starting Sunday

Rooker is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Rooker went hitless in Saturday's game and is now hitting .200 with three doubles and four RBI in his last 10 games. Jake Cave starts in left field and bats ninth Sunday.

  • Franmil Reyes DH | WAS

Indians' Franmil Reyes: On bench Sunday

Reyes is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Reyes' last 10 games have seen him hit .297 with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Jose Ramirez is the designated hitter Sunday while Yu Chang mans third base.
