  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Leads offense Thursday

Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Guardians.

All three hits were singles, which has become the norm for Cabrera. The veteran has six doubles and three home runs this season, but the rest of his 42 hits have only gotten him to first base. Still, he's now batting an even .300 with a .753 OPS, so there's definitely some fantasy value there. Fantasy managers just shouldn't expect Cabrera to be the dominant slugger he was earlier in his career.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Scratched with abdominal issue

Ozuna was scratched from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies due to lower abdominal tightness.

Although Ozuna was removed from Thursday's lineup less than an hour before the start of the game, his injury doesn't seem like a significant concern since he'll be available off the bench. However, Orlando Arcia will enter the lineup in left field and bat eighth.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

    Yankees' Matt Carpenter: Starting Thursday

Carpenter was added to the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.

The 36-year-old joined the Yankees on a major-league deal Thursday, and he'll make his team debut as the designated hitter against the Rays after Aaron Hicks (hamstring) was scratched from the lineup. Carpenter has appeared in 21 games at Triple-A Round Rock this year and has hit .275 with six homers, 19 RBI, 15 runs and a steal.

  • Cooper Hummel LF | HOU

Diamondbacks' Cooper Hummel: Not starting Thursday

Hummel isn't starting Thursday against the Dodgers.

Although Hummel was activated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of Thursday's series opener against the Dodgers, he'll be out of the lineup. The 27-year-old should serve as the Diamondbacks' primary designated hitter now that he's healthy, but Christian Walker will serve as the DH while Jake McCarthy enters the lineup in right field Thursday.

  • Franmil Reyes DH | WAS

Guardians' Franmil Reyes: Placed on 10-day injured list

Reyes was placed on the 10-day injured list with right hamstring tightness Thursday, retroactive to May 25, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Reyes was sidelined Wednesday against the Astros, and his absence was apparently due to a hamstring issue that will force him to miss at least a week and a half. The 26-year-old had been struggling prior to sustaining his injury, as he hit just .095 with a double, an RBI, three walks and eight strikeouts over his last seven games. Richie Palacios and Oscar Gonzalez were called up from Triple-A Columbus as part of a move to provide additional depth in Reyes' absence.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Yankees' Matt Carpenter: Inks big-league deal with Yankees

Carpenter signed a major-league contract with the Yankees on Thursday.

Carpenter joined the Rangers on a minor-league deal in mid-March and spent the first six weeks of the season at the Triple-A level, where he hit .275/.379/.613 with six home runs and 19 RBI in 21 games. The 36-year-old has struggled over the past couple years in the majors but will now receive an opportunity with the Yankees since DJ LeMahieu (wrist) is banged up and Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) and Josh Donaldson (illness) are on the injured list.

  • Cooper Hummel LF | HOU

Diamondbacks' Cooper Hummel: Back from COVID-19 IL

Hummel (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Thursday.

Hummel was placed on the COVID-19 IL last week and will rejoin the Diamondbacks ahead of Thursday's series opener against the Dodgers. The 27-year-old has appeared in 32 games in his first taste of big-league action this year and has a .190/.313/.354 slash line with two home runs, eight RBI and two stolen bases.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Not starting against lefty

Choi isn't starting Thursday against the Yankees.

Choi has started exclusively against right-handed pitchers this year, and he'll get a breather with southpaw Nestor Cortes on the mound Thursday. Wander Franco will serve as the designated hitter while Harold Ramirez enters the lineup at first base.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Reaches base three times

Blackmon went 1-for-3 with two walks Wednesday against the Pirates.

Blackmon has one hit in nine of his last 10 starts, but none have been multi-hit efforts. He's smacked two home runs in that span, also collecting four RBI and five runs scored. Overall, he has maintained a .221/.289/.393 line across 163 plate appearances on the season.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Marlins' Jorge Soler: Solo blast in loss

Soler went 1-for-4 with one homer, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's loss against the Rays.

After striking out in his first plate appearance, Soler blasted a leadoff homer in the fourth to cut Tampa Bay's lead to 5-1. It was the slugger's seventh home run in May and his ninth of the season. Soler is currently slashing .207/.292/.725 with 22 RBI and 16 walks.
