Yoshida went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 13-1 win over the Twins.

The 32-year-old launched a solo shot off position player Kody Clemens in the ninth inning, giving Yoshida his first homer of the year in his 13th game. After a very belated start to his campaign due to offseason shoulder surgery, Yoshida has a .239/.255/.370 slash line with three doubles, two steals, three runs and four RBI in 47 plate appearances since his activation in early July. He's been seeing consistent playing time since the All-Star break, but Yoshida's role could become more secure of the Red Sox are able to flip one of their young outfielders before the trade deadline.

Polanco went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Athletics on Wedneday.

Polanco's homer was a two-run shot in the seventh inning that reduced Seattle's deficit from three runs to one. The long ball was his 17th of the campaign, marking the most he has hit during a regular season since he went deep 33 times for Minnesota in 2021. Part of Polanco's increase in production this year has been due to health. He's had a few nagging issues but has been able to play in 90 games so far. after averaging just 100 regular-season contests over the past three campaigns.

Fry went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Rockies.

Fry socked his fifth homer of the season, and he's begun to show a power stroke despite a lack of average in the month of July. Over his last 43 at-bats, the 29-year-old is batting only .209 but has four long balls, one double and 10 RBI. It's fair to wonder if the Guardians will try to get Fry in the lineup more frequently versus righties-- the righty-hitting infielder has a .530 OPS versus left-handed pitching despite seeing most of his action against southpaws.

Ohtani was removed from his start as a pitcher in Wednesday's game versus Cincinnati due to lower-body cramps, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports. He was able to remain in the contest as the Dodgers' designated hitter.

The Dodgers took Ohtani off the mound after he demonstrated some command issues during the fourth inning of Wednesday's contest, but his removal had nothing to do with his arm. He was also able to stay in the game as the Dodgers' DH despite battling cramps, so the two-way player doesn't seem to be at risk of missing time. Ohtani covered three innings Wednesday and allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters.

Ohtani was removed as a pitcher from Wednesday's game against the Reds with an apparent injury, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Ohtani pitched into the fourth inning for the first time this season, but he was visited on the mound by a trainer after throwing six consecutive balls -- two of which were wild pitches. He was able to remain in the game as Los Angeles' designated hitter, so although it isn't immediately clear what was bothering the two-way superstar on the mound, it doesn't seem like the Dodgers will have to worry about losing his bat.

Pederson is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Angels on Wednesday.

Even with the Halos sending right-hander Jose Soriano to the mound, the lefty-hitting Pederson will begin Wednesday's game on the bench. Pederson was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Sunday but has gone 0-for-9 with three strikeouts since his return. Kyle Higashioka will serve as the designated hitter while Jonah Heim starts behind home plate.

Ballesteros went 1-for-2 with a three-run double in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Brewers.

Ballesteros played his first game with the Cubs since May 19 and came up clutch with a bases-clearing double in the third inning. He was later lifted in favor of the right-handed Justin Turner to face Brewers lefty DL Hall. The 21-year-old Ballesteros has gone 4-for-18 with six RBI and three runs scored across six major-league contests, and his role moving forward may be shaped by the upcoming trade deadline.

Keith went 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Batting leadoff, Keith did an excellent job setting the table before getting lifted for a pinch hitter in the sixth inning. Prior to then, the young infielder delivered his third three-hit effort of the season, all of which have come this month. The Tigers are rumored to be exploring third basemen leading up to Thursday's trade deadline, which would impact Keith's role, but for now he's the team's top option at the hot corner, at least against righties.

Flores is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

After going 1-for-8 while starting in the first two games of the series, Flores will get a breather for the finale. The Giants will go with Rafael Devers at designated hitter and Dominic Smith at first base while Flores sits.

Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Royals.

The veteran DH has started three of the last four games as he gets showcased for a potential trade, and Ozuna has done his part to boost his value by going yard in back-to-back contests. Four of his 15 homers on the season have come in July, but he only has eight total hits on the month, batting .167 (8-for-48) over 17 games.
