Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Slugs 33rd homer
Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and three runs scored Tuesday against the Tigers.
Alvarez took Drew Hutchison yard in the opening inning and tallied his double two frames later. After failing to homer in 21 consecutive starts, Alvarez now was two long balls in his last three games. He's also riding a modest five-game hitting streak, during which he's hit .438 with six runs scored. On the campaign, Alvarez has 33 homers while maintaining a .295/.403/.598 line across 494 plate appearances.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Brewers' Andrew McCutchen: Goes deep Tuesday
McCutchen went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and three total RBI in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Cardinals.
McCutchen gave the Brewers a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and put them ahead for good with a two-run blast in the fifth. While he's batting just .227 (5-for-22) across his last six games, he's gone yard three times in that span, knocking in six runs. The veteran outfielder is up to a .244/.312/.400 slash line with 17 homers, 65 RBI, 63 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 120 contests overall.

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Misses second straight
Ozuna isn't in the lineup Tuesday against the Giants.
Ozuna will sit for the second straight game Tuesday in favor of Eddie Rosario, who will bat seventh. Rosario is 4-for-4 over the last two games, so it seems Atlanta is simply opting for the hotter bat.

Christopher Morel 1B | MIA
Cubs' Christopher Morel: Catches breather Tuesday
Morel is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.
Morel has hit a rough patch at the plate, going just 6-for-44 (.136) over his last 16 games, so he will sit out Tuesday for the third time in six days. David Bote will claim a spot in Tuesday's lineup with Morel opening the contest on the bench.

Zack Collins C | CLE
Pirates' Zack Collins: Added to big-league roster
Collins was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.
Collins was claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays on Sept. 7, and he will join the big club less than a week later. He primarily plays behind the plate, but with two other catchers on the roster, he could see action at first base and as the designated hitter from time to time.

Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Rays' Harold Ramirez: Not in Game 1 lineup
Ramirez is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Ramirez is mired in a 3-for-26 (.115) slump, so manager Kevin Cash left him out of the lineup for the first game of the twin bill. Jonathan Aranda will man first base for the Rays on Tuesday afternoon.

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Sitting out Monday
Ozuna is not listed in the lineup for Monday's game against San Francisco.
Ozuna has a .940 OPS during September, but he will sit for the second time in three days Monday. In his place, Eddie Rosario will start the game in left field and bat eighth.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Expected to make next start
Angels manager Phil Nevin indicated that the blister that caused Ohtani to depart early from his last pitching start Saturday isn't going to prevent him from making his next start on the mound this coming weekend against the Mariners, the Associated Press reports.
Ohtani had tossed 79 pitches over five innings and surrendered only one run before the blister caused his early departure last Saturday in Houston, though he stayed in the contest as a hitter. The two-way star remained in the lineup at designated hitter Sunday, and Nevin stated that Ohtani will complete his normal bullpen session and be ready for his next scheduled pitching start without taking any extra time off.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Won't return this week
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Cabrera (biceps) is unlikely to return from the 10-day injured list during the team's six-game homestand this week, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Cabrera is eligible for activation Tuesday, but he'll need at least a little more time to get fully ramped up after being shelved earlier this month with a left biceps strain. On a positive note, the 39-year-old hasn't been shut down from activity entirely, with Hinch noting that Cabrera is scheduled to hit off a tee Monday. Cabrera thus looks on pace to return at some point in the second half of September, but he'll presumably be limited to a part-time role and make only a few starts per week once he's deemed ready to go.
