Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Gets in light workout
Stanton (hamstring) did some light jogging at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Stanton is two and a half weeks removed from suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and has evidently been cleared to get some light exercises in. He's expected to miss around six weeks of action, putting him in line to return in late May or early June.

Seth Beer DH | PIT
Diamondbacks' Seth Beer: Loses 40-man spot
The Diamondbacks designated Beer for assignment Wednesday.
The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Brandon Pfaadt, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Reno ahead of Wednesday's game against the Rangers. The 26-year-old Beer had yet to appear in the majors this season and slashed .200/.266/.314 in 79 plate appearances with Reno. His poor numbers at Triple-A and lack of defensive flexibility mean he's unlikely to be claimed off waivers.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Giants' Joc Pederson: Out of lineup Wednesday
Pederson is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Pederson will begin Wednesday's contest on the bench with left-hander Framber Valdez on the mound for the Astros. Wilmer Flores will operate as the designated hitter and hit fifth in the final game of the three-game series against Houston.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Out of lineup with illness
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that Cabrera isn't in the lineup for the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday against the Mets due to an illness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Cabrera is usually in the lineup when southpaws are on the mound, but the illness helps explain while the future Hall of Famer is taking a seat for the first game of Wednesday's twin bill. Eric Haase is hitting cleaning up and serving as designated hitter in Cabrera's absence.

Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Royals' Franmil Reyes: Sent out to Triple-A
The Royals optioned Reyes to Triple-A Omaha prior to Tuesday's 11-7 loss to the Orioles.
Even for a 7-23 Royals squad that ranks near the bottom of the majors in most offensive metrics, Reyes proved to be too much of a liability at the plate to earn regular playing time. Before being demoted Tuesday, Reyes had started in only two of the Royals' previous five games and was sitting on a .186/.231/.288 slash line and a 36.9 percent strikeout rate over 65 plate appearances on the season. With his career continuing to trend downward since he slugged 30 home runs for Cleveland in 2021, Reyes could be in danger of being designated for assignment if the Royals need to open up a spot on the 40-man roster at any point.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Mets' Daniel Vogelbach: Idle versus lefty
Vogelbach is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader in Detroit, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The Tigers are bringing southpaw Joey Wentz to the hill for the opening game of the twin bill, so the lefty-hitting Vogelbach will predictably head to the bench. Mark Canha will fill in for Vogelbach as the Mets' designated hitter.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Goes yard in Tuesday's win
Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Twins.
Jimenez got the White Sox on the board with a two-run blast to left-center field off Jorge Lopez to put his squad in front 2-1. It was his third home run of the year and his first since April 22. The 26-year-old has not lived up to his fantasy price tag so far after spending some time on the IL, but he does have eight hits over his last five games and is now slashing .226/.293/.381 with seven extra-base hits, 11 RBI, nine runs and an 8:25 BB:K over 92 plate appearances.
-
Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Steals first bag of year
Buxton went 1-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.
Buxton walked in the third and stole second for his first stolen base of the year. He later singled in the sixth and came around to score the Twins' first run on a sacrifice fly. Despite being one of the fastest players in all of baseball, Buxton has not posted double-digit steals since 2019. Health has certainly played a factor, and while it would be a welcome sight for fantasy managers if steals became a part of his repertoire once again, that should not be expected. The 29-year-old sits at a slash line of .257/.327/.545 with seven homers, 17 RBI, 20 runs and a 11:36 BB:K over 113 plate appearances thus far.
-
Bryce Harper DH | PHI
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Three strikeouts in loss
Harper (elbow) went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in his season debut Tuesday in a 13-1 loss to the Dodgers.
While Harper made an incredibly fast recovery from Tommy John surgery, a season debut like this one shows it's best to temper expectations with the 30-year-old for now. Harper will be limited to designated hitter initially, and he's expected to play at first base once he's cleared to throw with his surgically repaired right elbow. Fantasy managers will want to have him active quickly -- this is a player who slashed .286/.364/.514 with 18 home runs, 65 RBI, 63 runs scored, 11 stolen bases and 28 doubles over 99 games in an injury-plagued 2022 campaign.

Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Rays' Harold Ramirez: Homers, drives in two
Ramirez went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a solo home run and a stolen base in Tuesday's victory over the Pirates.
Ramirez opened the scoring Tuesday with an RBI single in the fourth inning before swiping second base for his first steal of the season. The 28-year-old Ramirez would later extend Tampa's lead to 4-1 in the sixth with his sixth homer of the season. Ramirez has gotten off to a great start this season, slashing .342/.412/.658 with 13 RBI and 13 runs scored in 85 plate appearances. However, he's seen a reduction in playing time recently, starting just four out of the Rays' last seven games.
