  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Legs out inside-the-park homer

Harper went 2-for-5 with a home run in Monday's win over San Francisco.

Harper tied the game 1-1 in the first inning with an RBI single before legging out an inside-the-park home run in the fifth. He's now 8-for-19 (.421) with three homers over his last five games. Overall, Harper's slash line is up to .293/.385/.449 with 10 homers, 57 runs scored, 42 RBI and seven steals through 397 plate appearances this season.

  • Kyle Lewis DH | ARI

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Returns to Reno

Lewis was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Lewis was called up last week and did have a multi-hit game, but he also posted a .325 OPS over 19 plate appearances, so the Diamondbacks decided to remove him from the roster to open up a spot for the returning Evan Longoria.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Red Sox's Justin Turner: Receives day off

Turner is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros, according to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic.

Turner had a big weekend series against the Yankees, but he will get some rest after starting two straight games at first base.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Gets Monday off

Morel is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

Nick Madrigal will enter the lineup at third base and serve as the de facto replacement for Morel, who had served as the Cubs' designated hitter for each of the past 13 games. Morel went just 2-for-23 with eight strikeouts in the last six of those contests, however, so manager David Ross may just be giving the 24-year-old a mental break Monday.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Heads to bench Monday

Cabrera is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.

Just as manager A.J. Hinch had suggested Sunday would be the case, Cabrera will take a seat for the series opener with the Cubs while Kerry Carpenter serves as Detroit's designated hitter. Cabrera has been serving as the Tigers' primary DH throughout August and likely won't be phased out of the lineup in the final stanza of his Hall of Fame-worthy career, though the promotion of outfield prospect Parker Meadows to the big leagues Monday could mean that the 40-year-old ends up moving into a short-side platoon role.

  • Luken Baker 1B | ARI

Cardinals' Luken Baker: Sitting versus lefty

Baker is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Pittsburgh, Bally Sports Midwest reports.

Baker has started just four of nine games since his recall and has now not been in the lineup three times in five contests versus southpaws over that time. The minor league's home run leader this season with 33 dingers, Baker has struggled during his few chances in the majors and the Cardinals don't seem terribly interested in giving him a longer look.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Blue Jays' Brandon Belt: Homers twice in win

Belt went 2-for-5 with two homers, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Reds.

Belt blasted a two-run home run in the third inning off Reds starter Hunter Greene, then got to him again by belting a solo shot in the fourth. It was the second multi-homer game of the season for Belt, who's up to 13 home runs in his inaugural season with the Blue Jays. Following a slow start in the power department, the long-time former Giant now has nine dingers since the calendar flipped to July.

  • Brent Rooker DH | ATH

Athletics' Brent Rooker: Hits 20th homer

Rooker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 12-1 loss to the Orioles.

Rooker accounted for Oakland's run of the game with his seventh-inning blast. He's been a bright spot lately, going 10-for-33 (.303) over his last nine games with two homers and two doubles in that span. His blast Sunday earned him the first 20-homer campaign of his career, and he's added 51 RBI, 43 runs scored, two stolen bases and a .245/.329/.469 slash line through 103 contests.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Red Sox's Justin Turner: Homer, four RBI Sunday

Turner went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Sunday's 6-5 victory over the Yankees.

Turner put the Red Sox ahead 5-2 in the seventh inning with a two-run homer off Michael King, his 20th long ball of the year, before breaking a 5-5 tie with an RBI double in the ninth. Over his last eight games, the 38-year-old Turner's gone 10-for-29 (.345) with three home runs. His slash line is up to .288/.356/.488 with 79 RBI and 72 runs scored across 483 plate appearances this season. Turner made a second consecutive start at first base, but Triston Casas (tooth) could return Monday, which would allow Turner to return to DH. He's been battling a bruised bone in his left heel, and the Red Sox want to keep him off the foot as much as possible.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Homer, triple in loss

Blackmon went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a triple and an additional run scored in Sunday's 10-5 loss to the White Sox.

Blackmon has gone 9-for-20 (.450) with two homers and two triples over six games since he returned from a two-month absence with a hand injury. Both of his homers in that span have come in the last two games. The veteran is up to a .281/.367/.468 slash line with seven long balls, 31 RBI, 42 runs scored, 14 doubles and four triples through 62 contests this season. He's been atop the lineup in all five games he's started since his return, bumping Ezequiel Tovar to the No. 2 spot in the order.
