Senzel is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Boston.

Senzel closed out April with a power surge, but the strikeouts have piled up on him in May, as he's whiffed at a 42.4 percent rate in seven contests. He'll get a day off to regroup. Jesse Winker will be the Nationals' designated hitter Friday, while Eddie Rosario will hold down left field.

Yoshida got a third opinion on his left thumb and said Friday that the injury wouldn't require surgery, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Yoshida is battling a strained left thumb and, up until this point, surgery was not off the table. After seeing his third specialist, it's been decided that he'll be able to go straight into rehab without it. Manager Alex Cora said it will still be weeks until Yoshida can resume swinging a bat, per Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald.

Carpenter (oblique) is on track to rejoin the Cardinals on Saturday in Milwaukee, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.

Carpenter will play in one more rehab game with Triple-A Memphis on Friday before a likely return to the big club. Out since early April with a right oblique strain, Carpenter has gone 4-for-17 with two homers in his first five rehab contests. Upon his activation, Carpenter could see some starts at designated hitter versus righties for an offense that's desperately looking for a spark.

Bryant (back) did infield drills and hit in the batting cage prior to the Rockies' game against the Giants on Wednesday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Bryant has progressed slowly since landing on the injured list, and it has since been disclosed that he has disc and arthritis issues in his lower back. He took a step forward Wednesday, making his first participation in baseball activities since being sidelined. Manager Bud Black noted that Bryant will likely need a rehab assignment, meaning there's a good chance he won't be activated until at least late May.

Pederson went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Thursday's 5-4 win over Cincinnati.

Pederson opened the scoring with a solo shot off Hunter Greene in the first inning, his fourth long ball of the year. Pederson had gone just 2-for-15 in four games coming into Thursday's contest. He's still slashing a solid .302/.415/.535 with 15 runs scored and eight RBI through 33 games this season as Arizona's primary DH against right-handed pitching.

Garver went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a loss to the Twins on Wednesday.

Garver's fourth-inning solo shot to right field put the Mariners on the board and served as his third time leaving the yard in the last 11 contests. Garver has also reached safely in six consecutive games, perhaps a sign he's finally beginning to work out of the extended slump that's defined the first month-plus of his tenure in Seattle.

Ozuna went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox.

Ozuna jumped on a hanging four-seamer from Nick Pivetta in the bottom of the first and launched it into the stands in right field for a three-run shot to put Atlanta on the board. The veteran slugger followed up with another long ball in the third, this time a solo shot on the first pitch he saw, giving him a league-leading 12 home runs on the season. Ozuna also leads the major leagues in RBI with 38 and has now driven in at least one run in three straight games.

Stanton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-4 win against Houston.

Stanton hit one of three homers for New York in the victory, taking Spencer Arrighetti deep for a 447-foot solo blast in the third inning. It was the second straight game with a long ball for the slugger, and he extended his modest hitting streak to five games. Stanton has struck out 10 times in 20 at-bats over that stretch, so he's far from locked in at the plate, but three of his five hits during the streak have gone for extra bases.

De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Dodgers.

De La Cruz produced the only run for the Marlins, tagging Gavin Stone for a solo shot in the fourth inning. The DH has gone yard in three of his last five games, bringing his season total to eight. With Wednesday's homer, De La Cruz's ISO sits at .205, up from .154 last season.

Sanchez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Wednesday's 6-4 loss to Kansas City.

Sanchez notched his second home run of the series Wednesday, tagging Nick Anderson for a solo homer in the seventh inning. The 31-year-old has slowly been climbing out of his early season slump, collecting eight hits in his last 23 at-bats, with four home runs during that stretch.
