Masataka Yoshida LF | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Not in lineup Wednesday
Yoshida is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Colorado, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Yoshida was included in the Red Sox's initial lineup, but he ended up being scratched after Boston opted to shift Rafael Devers (shoulder) to the designated-hitter spot after he got banged up in Tuesday's 6-0 win. Romy Gonzalez will shift from second base to third base, while Jamie Westbrook will enter the lineup at second base.

Charlie Blackmon RF | COL
Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Getting rest Wednesday lineup
Blackmon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Red Sox.
Right-hander Nick Pivetta is on the bump for Boston, but the left-handed-hitting Blackmon nonetheless finds himself on the bench for a day game after a night game. Kris Bryant will occupy the designated hitter spot and Jake Cave will patrol right field Wednesday while Blackmon sits.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Mariners' Mitch Garver: Losing playing time
Garver is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Garver is in the midst of a rough stretch at the plate, having gone hitless with eight strikeouts in his last five starts and 2-for-29 with a 32.4 percent strikeout rate over his past eight games. The ongoing slump looks to have cost him a regular spot in the lineup, as Garver will miss out Wednesday on the Mariners' third straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher (Griffin Canning). Jason Vosler will get a second straight start at designated hitter and may have overtaken Garver as the Mariners' preferred option for the time being.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Brewers' Gary Sanchez: Returns from IL
The Brewers activated Sanchez (calf) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Sanchez missed the previous month of action with a strained left calf. The Brewers will carry three catchers for the time being, which will give the team the option of using Sanchez, William Contreras or Eric Haase at designated hitter on days they're not catching.

Kris Bryant RF | COL
Rockies' Kris Bryant: Reaches base in return
Bryant went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Bryant was activated from the injured list Tuesday after being sidelined since June 2. He hit fifth and notably played in right field, pushing Charlie Blackmon to designated hitter and Jake Cave out of the lineup. Bryant has managed only 105 plate appearances for the season due to back and oblique injuries, so he's also likely to make appearances as the designated hitter.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Plates three runs in win
Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a double, a steal and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Giants.
Ohtani struck out three times on the evening but made the most of his at-bats with runners on. He doubled home two runs in the fourth and singled home another in the eighth for his first game with three-plus RBI since June 19. He continues to be one of the most feared hitters in the league, slashing .314/.400/.632 with 30 homers, 73 RBI, 78 runs, 24 steals and a 55:102 BB:K in 450 plate appearances.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Blue Jays' Justin Turner: Ends power drought Tuesday
Turner went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Rays.
The veteran slugger went back-to-back with Vladimir Guerrero in the sixth inning off Manuel Rodriguez to account for all of the Jays' offense on the night. Turner snapped a 21-game homer drought with the blast, a stretch in which he managed only two doubles and seven RBI while slashing .219/.348/.247. Given that he only signed a one-year deal with Toronto in January, Turner is one of the players the team will be looking to move by the trade deadline, so a hot streak to close out July could net the Jays a slightly better return.

Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT
Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: On base three times Tuesday
O'Hearn went 2-for-3 with a walk and one RBI in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Marlins.
O'Hearn didn't start Sunday after getting hit by a pitch on the knee in Saturday's game versus the Rangers. That was the extent of his absence, and he should be good to regularly serve as the Orioles' designated hitter against right-handed pitchers once again. Tuesday marked his first multi-hit effort since July 3, as he's batting a modest .244 (10-for-41) over 14 contests this month. He's slashing .279/.348/.468 through 299 plate appearances overall.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Mariners' Mitch Garver: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Garver is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Garver has gone 0-for-10 with seven strikeouts and two walks in his first three games of the second half, and he'll sit for Tuesday's divisional contest. Jason Vosler will bat seventh as the designated hitter against Halos righty Jose Soriano.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Brewers' Gary Sanchez: Expected back Wednesday
Manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Sanchez (calf) is expected to return from the injured list Wednesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
A left calf strain forced Sanchez onto the IL in late June, and he has since gone 1-for-6 with a walk through two rehab games at Triple-A Nashville. Once activated, the 31-year-old backstop will presumably reclaim his role as Milwaukee's backup catcher, replacing Eric Haase.
