Ramirez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Ramirez will take a seat for the third time in the last four games with a .243/.317/.405 slash line over 42 plate appearances in September. Jon Berti will start in left field and bat eighth in the series finale.

Choi sits against lefty Patrick Sandoval and the Angels on Sunday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Choi hits the bench against a southpaw as he typically does. He's hit just .239/.345/.366 in limited action against lefties this season. Jesus Aguilar will start at first base.

Ford hit a two-run homer in his only plate appearance in Saturday's victory over the Blue Jays.

Ford was sent to the plate as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning and launched a two-run shot to right center field. The 27-year-old has played sparingly in September but has been productive when called upon, batting .294 (5-for-17) with a pair of homers and four RBI this month.

Cabrera (knee) will sit as expected Sunday against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Cabrera left Saturday's game with knee soreness, an extension of the chronic knee problems with which he's expected to deal for the remainder of his career. He was reportedly due for a scheduled day off regardless of the injury Sunday. Christin Stewart will be the designated hitter in his absence.

Canha went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 8-6 win over the Rangers.

Canha didn't have the best night at the dish, but his fifth-inning, go-ahead homer off Rangers starter Mike Minor gave the A's a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Canha is hitting .272/.392/.516 with 24 homers, 55 RBI and 72 runs scored across 372 at-bats this season.

Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 11-10 win over the Padres.

Blackmon went deep off Padres starter Eric Lauer in the third inning, the first of six runs in the frame for the Rockies. Blackmon hadn't homered since Aug. 19, a rare span of 22 games without a long ball for the strong-hitting outfielder. Blackmon now has 28 homers, 78 RBI and 104 runs scored to go with a .317/.362/.574 slash line in 129 games this season.

Alvarez launched a pinch-hit, three-run home run in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Royals.

While he didn't get the start, Alvarez still had an impact, breaking open a 2-1 game with his eighth-inning blast. He already holds the Astros' franchise rookie record for homers in a season with 25 (and counting), and he needs just two more in Houston's final 12 games to reach 50 on the season between his exploits at Triple-A and in the majors.

Cabrera left Saturday's game against the Orioles with right knee soreness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Cabrera has been playing through chronic issues in his right knee, so it's no surprise to see the problem pop up again. He isn't expected to start Sunday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports, though he was due for a scheduled off day regardless of the injury. He's considered day-to-day.

Alvarez is not in Saturday's lineup against the Royals, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

He is hitting .302/.400/.605 with three home runs in 11 games this month. Michael Brantley will be the designated hitter while Kyle Tucker gets a start in left field.

Vogelbach entered Friday's loss to the White Sox as a pinch hitter and laced a two-run double in his one at-bat.

The burly slugger plated Tim Lopes and Tom Murphy with his timely two-bagger, bringing the Mariners to within 8-7 at the time. As impressive as his power numbers have been -- Vogelbach has a career-high 30 home runs to go along with 17 doubles -- the 26-year-old has nevertheless been in a near-three-month slump at the plate. Vogelbach entered July with a .244/.379/.519 line, but he's slashed just .169/.293/.373 across the 208 plate appearances he's logged over his last 55 games.
