Christian Yelich DH | MIL
Brewers' Christian Yelich: Goes deep twice in win
Yelich went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 6-2 win over the Phillies.
Yelich hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning and then crushed a 420-foot solo shot in the ninth. He extended his hitting streak to eight games, a stretch that includes five multi-hit performances, five homers, 12 RBI, nine runs scored and two steals. While he's slashing a modest .220/.305/.416, the 33-year-old has still produced 12 long balls, 38 RBI, 30 runs scored and 10 stolen bases across 236 plate appearances.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Not ready Friday
Alvarez (hand) is not in Friday's lineup against the Rays.
Despite a ballyhooed batting practice session ahead of Friday's contest, it doesn't appear Alvarez will be activated Friday. Zach Dezenzo is starting at designated hitter and batting eighth.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Strong BP on Friday
Alvarez (hand) homered to conclude his live batting practice session ahead of Friday's game against the Rays, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Alvarez is eligible for activation and we're awaiting the Astros lineup for Friday, but multiple Astros beat writers commented about Alvarez's home run to conclude live BP. Rome noted that Mauricio Dubon and Jose Altuve got up as if to say they'd seen enough, following Alvarez's home run, so it's possible he's activated Friday at designated hitter.

Anthony Santander DH | TOR
Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Out with shoulder inflammation
The Blue Jays placed Santander on the 10-day injured list Friday due to left shoulder inflammation.
The veteran outfielder has gone 0-for-17 with three walks and seven strikeouts in his past five games, and he'll now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. Santander has been playing through hip and shoulder issues for most of May, and it's his shoulder that ended up sending him to the IL. Alan Roden was called up from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move. Santander may get a cortisone shot in the coming days, per Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca.

Nick Martini DH | COL
Rockies' Nick Martini: DFA'd by Colorado
The Rockies designated Martini for assignment Friday.
Martini was a lineup regular against right-handed pitching through the first two months of the season, but he failed to take advantage of the playing time with a .225/.288/.294 slash line in 111 plate appearances. Sam Hilliard was selected to the major-league roster in a corresponding move.

Josh Bell DH | WAS
Nationals' Josh Bell: Belts extra-inning homer
Bell went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Mariners.
The long ball wasn't exactly clutch, as it closed the books on a seven-run 10th inning for the Nationals that blew open a 2-2 tie, but it's another encouraging sign that Bell is coming out of his early season swoon. The 32-year-old has gone yard in back-to-back games, racking up five hits over those contests, and over his last 14 games he sports a .277/.370/.489 slash line with three of his eight homers on the year.
-
Marcell Ozuna DH | ATL
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: On base five times in twin bill
Ozuna went 2-for-7 with three walks and two runs scored across both games of Thursday's doubleheader split with the Phillies.
The veteran DH reached base multiple times in each contest, extending his on-base streak to 11 games in the process. During that stretch, Ozuna's slashing .333/.480/.564 with three homers, six RBI and eight runs, and his current .428 OBP on the season would shatter his previous career high over a full campaign of .378, a mark he set last year. Ozuna did post a .431 OBP over 60 games in the abbreviated pandemic season of 2020.

Yandy Diaz DH | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Doubles, drives in two in rout
Diaz went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 13-3 win over the Astros.
It was Diaz's first multi-hit game since May 21, as it's been a relatively quiet stretch for him at the plate in terms of batting average. Across his last 11 contests, the veteran corner infielder is batting just .234 with one homer, three doubles, 10 RBI and five runs scored. Diaz does have four multi-RBI efforts and multi-hit games during this period, however.

Josh Bell DH | WAS
Nationals' Josh Bell: Finally notches multi-hit game
Bell went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Wednesday in a 9-0 win over Seattle.
Bell slugged a solo homer to left field in the second inning and added two singles for his first multi-hit effort of the season. Incredibly, it took him 46 contests to achieve that feat, which explains why his season slash line still stands at a paltry .166/.264/.318. Bell has supplied a bit of pop with seven homers and has recorded a solid 10.7 percent walk rate, which have helped him remain the Nationals' primary DH despite his slow start to the campaign.

Gavin Sheets LF | SD
Padres' Gavin Sheets: Homers in loss
Sheets went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-8 loss to the Marlins.
Sheets got the scoring started with an RBI single in the first inning and later gave the Padres an 8-7 lead with a two-run home run in the seventh. The 29-year-old has been on a power binge over his last 10 games, homering five times with 11 RBI. He's been a pleasant surprise so far this season, slashing .275/.324/.509 with 11 long balls, 34 RBI, 23 runs scored and a stolen base across 185 plate appearances.
