Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Held out Monday
Carpenter (quadriceps) is not in the lineup Monday against the Rockies.
Carpenter left Sunday's contest with the Cubs prematurely due to a bout of cramps in his quad, and it seems like the Cardinals want to give him at least one more day of rest to get back to full health. He'll remain day-to-day as Luke Voit takes over at first base Monday night.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Diamondbacks' J.D. Martinez: Set for home debut with Arizona
Martinez (wrist) is in the starting lineup Monday against the Braves.
Martinez sat out of the past four contests but managed to make a pinch-hitting appearance Sunday afternoon, which likely acted as the final hurdle to getting him back in the lineup. He'll slot back into his normal spot in the lineup with his new team, batting fifth and playing right field.

Diamondbacks' J.D. Martinez: Makes pinch-hitting appearance Sunday
Martinez (wrist) came on to pinch hit in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Nationals, drawing a walk in his lone plate appearance.
Martinez remained out of the lineup for a fourth consecutive contest due to the bruised left wrist he sustained in his Diamondbacks debut, but his appearance off the bench Sunday suggests that he'll likely be able to avoid the disabled list and could resume outfield duties as soon as Monday's series opener against the Braves. Fantasy owners will likely want to await confirmation that Martinez is in fact part of the Monday lineup before activating him, but things seem to be trending in the right direction for the 30-year-old slugger.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Pulled due to leg cramping
Carpenter departed Sunday's loss to the Cubs in the second inning because of cramping in his right quadriceps, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Carpenter isn't sure whether it was related to dehydration, an unorthodox slide in the first inning or something altogether different, but he doesn't expect to to miss Monday's series opener against the visiting Rockies. As such, owners should feel fairly confident rolling with him per usual unless news breaks suggesting otherwise.

Charlie Blackmon RF | COL
Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Hits 24th homer in blowout win
Blackmon went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs and two RBI in Sunday's 13-3 win over the Pirates.
Blackmon was tremendous as usual in setting the table for the offense out of the leadoff spot. He got the scoring started with an RBI single in the third inning before smacking the first of five Colorado home runs in the fifth. The 31-year-old outfielder is already just five short of last season's career-high 29 homers in 45 fewer games played.

Diamondbacks' J.D. Martinez: Possible pinch-hit option
Manager Torey Lovullo expects Martinez (hand) to be able to pinch hit Sunday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Martinez hasn't played since being lifted from Wednesday's game with a hand injury, but it appears a return is just around the corner. He was expected to take batting practice Sunday, and if that session goes well, he could see some usage off the bench in the series finale before returning to the starting nine during the Diamondbacks' upcoming three-game series against the Braves.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Returns to action Sunday
Turner (illness) is back in the lineup Sunday against the Braves, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Turner is dealing with a bout of bronchitis, but declared himself ready to play prior to Sunday's contest. He's apparently one of several Dodgers that is a bit under the weather at the moment, but will return to the lineup nonetheless to snap a one-game absence.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Diamondbacks' J.D. Martinez: Sits again Sunday
Martinez (hand) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals.
Martinez was removed from Wednesday's game due to what was called a left hand contusion, and despite both his X-rays and MRI coming back clean, he will miss his fourth consecutive game. With A.J. Pollock also getting the day off, the Diamondbacks will roll with an outfield composed of Daniel Descalso (left), Gregor Blanco (center) and David Peralta (right). Word has yet to surface on when Martinez might be available for a pinch-hit opportunity.

Yoenis Cespedes DH | NYM
Mets' Yoenis Cespedes: Not starting in series finale
Cespedes is out of the lineup Sunday against the A's, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Cespedes has dealt with hip issues since after the All-Star break, but had recently been able to start six games in a row prior to Sunday. He tallied three base knocks in the first game of the series, but after an 0-for-5 showing Saturday, Cespedes will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular maintenance day. The move allows Curtis Granderson to draw the start in center field, as Michael Conforto will move over to left to take the place of Cespedes.

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Marlins' Marcell Ozuna: Day off Sunday
Ozuna is out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Ozuna hasn't missed a start since June 29, but will take a seat in favor of Ichiro Suzuki for the afternoon matchup. Ozuna went 0-for-4 at the plate Saturday, but owns an .845 OPS in the month of July.
