Giants' Alex Dickerson: Belts first homer
Dickerson went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a triple, a walk and two additional runs Wednesday in the Giants' 7-6 win over the Padres.
Dickerson's sixth-inning long ball off David Bednar was one of four home runs on the night for the Giants. The two extra-base hits, three runs and RBI were the first of the season for Dickerson, who had gone 2-for-10 with a pair of singles over his first three starts.

Brandon Belt DH | TOR
Giants' Brandon Belt: On track for Thursday
Giants manager Gabe Kapler reiterated that Belt (Achilles) remains on track to return from the 10-day injured list ahead of Thursday's series finale against the Padres, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Evan Longoria (oblique) is also expected to return from the IL, providing the Giants with both of their primary starters at the corner-infield spots. Pablo Sandoval had served as the team's starting first basemen against right-handed pitching for the Giants' first six games, but he'll likely move into a full-time bench role with Belt back in the fold.

Yoenis Cespedes DH | NYM
Mets' Yoenis Cespedes: Mashes second homer
Cespedes went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Red Sox.
He socked his second homer of the year off Matt Barnes in the eighth inning but missed a chance to play hero in the ninth, striking out with the bases loaded in a one-run game. Cespedes is flashing his power but otherwise looks very rusty at the plate, slashing .211/.286/.526 through five games with a 1:10 BB:K.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Heads to bench
Carpenter is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Twins, FOX Sports Midwest reports.
Carpenter had been in the lineup for each of the Cardinals' first four games, all of which came against right-handed pitchers. He'll hit the bench for the first time Wednesday with a southpaw (Rich Hill) on the mound for Minnesota. Rangel Ravelo gets his first start of the season as the designated hitter in his absence.

Brad Miller DH | SD
Cardinals' Brad Miller: On road trip with club
Miller (ankle) traveled with the Cardinals to Minnesota for the current series against the Twins instead of remaining at the team's alternate training site in Springfield, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
The fact Miller is along for the road trip appears to bode well for his impending season debut. The veteran is eligible to come off the injured list as early as Friday, when the Cardinals will begin a three-game set against the Brewers, but president of baseball operations John Mozeliak noted Tuesday the team still wanted to see how Miller felt over the next few days before a decision on potential activation was made.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Out of lineup again Tuesday
Pederson isn't in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.
Pederson will be out of the starting nine for the second consecutive game with left-hander Framber Valdez on the mound for the Astros. A.J. Pollock will shift to left field and bat seventh.

Luis Torrens C | NYM
Padres' Luis Torrens: Named to taxi squad
Torrens is traveling with the Padres as part of their taxi squad for their upcoming road trip in San Francisco, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Torrens' place on the three-player squad was largely assumed due to his clear status as the team's third option at catcher and the requirement for clubs to carry a backstop as part of the taxi squad. He won't be able to participate in games unless a member of the current 30-man roster goes down to injury or tests positive for COVID-19.

Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Marlins' Harold Ramirez: Placed on injured list
Ramirez (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Monday, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
Ramirez landed on the injured list along with several of his teammates as part of the Marlins' coronavirus outbreak. It's unclear whether Ramirez is experiencing symptoms, but he'll have to produce two negative tests before he's allowed to return to the team. Jon Berti should see an uptick in playing time in his absence.

Yoenis Cespedes DH | NYM
Mets' Yoenis Cespedes: Receives day off Monday
Cespedes isn't in the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
After blasting a home run in the Mets' Opening Day contest, Cespedes went 1-for-7 with one walk and five strikeouts over the last two games. He'll get a day off Monday with Dominic Smith taking over as the designated hitter, batting eighth.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Reds' Jesse Winker: Out against lefty
Winker is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.
Winker will sit for the second time in four days with the Cubs bringing a southpaw (Jon Lester) to the hill. Christian Colon will take over as the Reds' designated hitter in place of Winker, who went 1-for-8 with a walk in the team's season-opening series with the Tigers.
