  • Darin Ruf DH | MIL

Giants' Darin Ruf: Double, home run

Ruf went 2-for-4 with a double, two-run home run, an additional RBI and a strikeout as San Francisco beat Arizona 5-2 on Sunday.

Ruf plated Buster Posey with his first inning double and later smacked a two-run home run off Arizona starter Caleb Smith to extend San Francisco's lead to 5-0 in the sixth. It was a nice breakout performance after Ruf had gone 0-for-6 with three strikeouts across his last five appearances and his .250/.373/.510 slash line has continued a late-career renaissance that began in 2020.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: On bench against left-hander

Dickerson isn't starting Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Dickerson went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs, a walk and a strikeout across the last two games, but he'll retreat to the bench with left-hander Caleb Smith starting for the Diamondbacks. Jaylin Davis will start in left field and bat eighth.

  • Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Exits with oblique issue

McCutchen exited Sunday's loss to the Padres with oblique tightness, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

McCutchen complained of oblique soreness during Sunday's contest, and he took himself out of the game with two outs in the top of the ninth inning rather than risking a more serious injury. The 34-year-old will be examined further Monday when the team travels to Chicago, and he should be considered day-to-day for now. Prior to his departure, the left fielder went 0-for-3 with a walk.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Cubs' Joc Pederson: Sitting versus lefty

Pederson is not in the lineup Sunday against the Reds.

Pederson is 0-for-12 over his past three games and will head to the bench Sunday with southpaw Wade Miley pitching for Cincinnati. Ian Happ will shift to left field while Jake Marisnick starts in center.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: On bench Sunday

Turner is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

After a 1-for-4 performance Saturday, Turner has hit .396 with seven runs and seven RBI in his last 13 games. Zach McKinstry starts at third base while Turner sits out the morning contest.

  • Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Swipes sixth base

McCutchen went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a stolen base Saturday against the Padres.

McCutchen singled off Yu Darvish in the sixth inning and promptly stole second base before coming in to score on a Rhys Hoskins double. The 34-year-old McCutchen is 6-for-7 on the basepaths this season, with half off those six steals coming in the last seven games. McCutchen has gotten on base at a healthy .352 clip this season -- he leads the Phillies with 48 walks -- and has 13 homers and 41 RBI in 253 at-bats, but his .229 average would be the lowest of his career.

  • Bryce Harper DH | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Homers, drives in pair

Harper went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI against the Padres on Saturday.

Harper got the Phillies on the board with a solo homer in the second inning, his 14th round tripper of the season, all of which have been solo blasts. He later broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth when he brought home J.T. Realmuto with a sac fly. Harper is enjoying another standout season -- he's slashing .271/.377/.514 while going a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen bases -- but has only driven in 26 runs in 252 plate appearances.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Retreats to bench

Blackmon isn't starting Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Blackmon recorded his fifth three-hit performance of the season Tuesday, but he went 2-for-13 with a double, a run and four strikeouts across his last three appearances. Chris Owings will take over in right field and bat eighth.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Productive performance Friday

Turner went 3-for-4 with a home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Friday's win over the Nationals.

Turner has recorded five multi-hit games over his last seven appearances. He recorded three hits for the first time since June 9 and also snapped a 15-game homerless drought. He's hitting .389 with a 1.004 OPS over his last 10 games (36 at-bats).

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Swats homer in win

Dickerson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 11-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Dickerson took Zac Gallen long in the third for one of four home runs the Giants hit on the evening. He had entered Friday going zero for his last 12 at-bats and was finally able to end the brief drought with a big hit. The 31-year-old is slashing .223/.291/.395 with seven homers, 23 RBI, 18 runs scored, a steal and an 11:41 BB:K over 172 plate appearances.
