Carpenter entered Monday's win over the Brewers as a pinch hitter in the top of the seventh inning, lacing a double and subsequently scoring in his one plate appearance.
Carpenter made a pinch-hit appearance for the third straight game and sixth in the last seven overall. His two-bagger to lead off the seventh was his second double in the last three games, a rare taste of offensive success in a season that's seen the veteran produce an abysmal .175 average and .289 slugging percentage across 232 plate appearances.
