Brad Miller DH | SD
Rays' Brad Miller: Heads to bench Tuesday
Miller is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Miller has just one hit in his last 15 at-bats, so he'll head to the bench to gather himself after starting six straight games at the keystone. Daniel Robertson will take over for him at second base for the game, batting ninth.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Moving up to Double-A
Jimenez was promoted from High-A Winston-Salem to Double-A Birmingham, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
Aside from a brief absence due to a bruised foot, Jimenez has only enhanced his standing in the eyes of prospect hounds since getting shipped from the Cubs to the White Sox in a July 13 blockbuster deal. The 20-year-old slashed a scintillating .345/.410/.682 across 122 plate appearances with Winston-Salem, collecting 27 extra-base hits while maintaining respectable walk (9.8 percent) and strikeout (17.2 percent) rates. If Jimenez is able to demonstrate similar power production and plate discipline upon moving up a rung on the minor-league ladder, he'll have a legitimate case for opening the 2018 campaign as the top overall prospect in the sport.

Zack Collins C | CLE
White Sox's Zack Collins: Gets bumped up to Double-A
Collins was promoted from High-A Winston-Salem to Double-A Birmingham on Tuesday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
Collins was pulled early in Sunday's game with Winston-Salem due to a bruised forearm, but returned to the lineup with a bang Monday in what proved to be his final contest in the Carolina League, going 2-for-4 with a double, triple and a walk. Though Collins has underwhelmed on the whole this season with a .223/.365/.443 line across 426 plate appearances, he found his swing in August, slashing .343/.500/.686 through his first 11 contests of the month to earn the promotion. It's likely that Collins will open the 2018 campaign with Birmingham even if he maintains his hot hitting over the final few weeks of the current season, as the White Sox are in no rush to push the 22-year-old through the system while he still could benefit from some further refinement behind the plate.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Dealing with renewed back tightness
Cabrera indicated that his back tightened up Monday morning, resulting in his absence from the lineup later in the evening in the Tigers' 6-2 loss to the Rangers, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said he initially expected Cabrera to play in the series opener with Texas, but the first baseman ended up sitting out his second consecutive contest after experiencing pain on the right side of his back. It's worth noting that Cabrera has battled chronic pain on the left side of his back through much of the season, suggesting that the current injury he's dealing with may be unrelated. The Tigers will reevaluate Cabrera on Tuesday to see if he's ready to return to the starting nine, but at this time, Ausmus said the team isn't considering placing the former MVP on the disabled list.

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Sitting again Monday
Cabrera (back, hip) is out of the lineup Monday against the Rangers.
Cabrera will sit out a second straight contest with lower-back and hip soreness, an injury that he picked up late in Saturday's game against the Twins. He had prepared to enter the series finale in a pinch-hitting scenario Sunday, according to Evan Woodbery of MLive.com, but ultimately went unused. That's at least an indication that Cabrera's injury is being viewed as a day-to-day issue, so while John Hicks will pick up another start at first base Monday, it shouldn't be long before Cabrera settles back in at the position.

Zack Collins C | CLE
White Sox's Zack Collins: Dealing with bruised forearm
Collins was removed from Sunday's game with High-A Winston Salem after sustaining a bruised forearm, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Collins is being listed as day-to-day after he was hit on the forearm by a deflected ball while catching. The injury doesn't appear to be overly serious, and the young backstop should be back in action relatively soon. While he is batting just .220 at High-A, he owns a respectable .795 OPS thanks to his 75 walks and 17 homers.

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Excluded from lineup Sunday
Cabrera (back) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins.
The Tigers had previously labeled Cabrera as doubtful to suit up in the series finale after lower-back tightness prompted his early exit in Saturday's contest, so his absence Sunday isn't surprising. John Hicks will enter the lineup at first base and bat fifth, but it's unclear if he'll pick up any further starts in the games to follow. Cabrera should be viewed as day-to-day and could return to action as soon as Monday against the Rangers if his back shows improvement.

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Doubtful for Sunday's game
Cabrera (back) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Twins, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
The back/hip issue that forced him from Saturday's game is on the other side of his body than the similar issue that plagued him at the start of the season. Cabrera was in a major funk at the plate prior to the injury, slashing .219/.280/.313 in 96 at-bats since the All-Star break. John Hicks would be the likely starter at first base if Cabrera does indeed sit for the series finale.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Smashes sixth home run Saturday
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Saturday against the Tigers.
Buxton's sixth bomb of the campaign broke up a 5-5 game, but the Twins would eventually lose the contest. Although his numbers at the plate had been abysmal this year, his 19 steals are what have been providing his fantasy value.

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Day-to-day with back tightness
Cabrera left Saturday's game against the Twins with lower-back tightness and is day-to-day.
He was 1-for-3 before exiting and was replaced at first base by John Hicks. Cabrera has dealt with back, hip and groin tightness already this season, as it appears that age is starting to catch up with him from a physical standpoint. He is hitting .219 with two home runs in 96 at-bats since the All-Star break.
