Twins' Byron Buxton: Suffers back contusion
Buxton suffered a contusion on his back in Tuesday's win over Kansas City and hopes to play Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Buxton left Tuesday's game after running into the center field wall trying to make a catch in the eighth inning. It sounds like he avoided a major injury, but he'll likely need a day or two off.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Exits with back injury
Buxton left Tuesday's game against Kansas City due to a sore back after running into the center field wall trying to make a catch in the eighth inning, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The move was labeled as precautionary, but any injury is a worry with the oft-injured Buxton. He did finish the inning but didn't come out for the ninth inning.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Late lineup addition
Vogelbach will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth against the Angels on Tuesday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Vogelbach was originally set to come off the bench but enters the lineup with Edwin Encarnacion being scratched. The 26-year-old is 0-for-4 with three strikeouts and two walks through his first three games of the season.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Could return in three weeks
Stanton (biceps) could return in three weeks, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
Stanton was placed on the injured list with a biceps strain Monday and will avoid all baseball activities for 10 days. He'll then have to get back in game shape following that shutdown period, so a three-week absence appears to be a reasonable target. Clint Frazier should see regular game time in the near future with Aaron Hicks (back) also out.

Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Shut down for 10 days
Stanton will be shut down from all baseball activities for 10 days due to his strained left biceps, Brendan Kuty of NJ.com reports.
Stanton reportedly suffered the injury while swinging. He'll still need to work his way back after the shutdown period, so the Yankees are currently framing his return date as "sometime this month."

Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Hits injured list with biceps strain
Stanton was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left biceps strain Monday.
It's not clear when Stanton suffered the injury, nor is it clear how long he's expected to be out. He'd managed just two hits through his first three games but had only received eight at-bats, as he walked seven times. Clint Frazier will take his place on the roster.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Continues hot start
Martinez went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, two walks and three runs scored in Sunday's 10-8 loss to Seattle.
Martinez continues to stuff the stat sheet as he's driven in at least one run in all four games to start 2019. His fantasy stock has gone through the roof after his ridiculous 2018 season that ended with a top-five MVP finish. So far, he's living up to all the hype once again.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Delivers two base knocks
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI against the Indians on Sunday.
After suffering a facial contusion a few days prior, Buxton pieced together a solid day at the dish and drove in a pair during the fourth inning on a double to left field. The 25-year-old outfielder has struggled with his health in the past, so it remains to be seen whether he can make it through the entire 2019 campaign relatively unscathed. Buxton was held to just 28 games a season ago.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Athletics' Mark Canha: Smacks first homer
Canha went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and a walk in a win over the Angels on Saturday.
Canha drew the start in center field while Kendrys Morales handled first-base duties, although Canha is slated to see a fair share of time in the latter spot as well. Canha's round tripper was his first of the new season, and he should be set for fairly regular playing time for the foreseeable future during Matt Olson's (hand) extended absence.
