  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Leaves after collision

Jimenez left Tuesday's game against the Royals in the first inning after colliding with teammate Charlie Tilson in the outfield.

Jimenez appeared to be holding his right shoulder after the play on what looked to be an innocuous collision with Tilson. Ryan Cordell replaced him in the game.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Placed on 7-day IL

Buxton was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Tuesday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

Buxton was forced to leave Saturday's game against the Indians after landing on his face while making a leaping catch. While he's been feeling better since Saturday, Buxton has a concussion and will need to clear protocol in order to gain clearance to return. Fortunately for the Twins, they will get both C.J. Cron (thumb) and Eddie Rosario (ankle) back from the injured list Tuesday.

  • Brent Rooker DH | ATH

Twins' Brent Rooker: Lands on MiLB IL

Rooker was placed on the 7-day injured list Tuedsay due to a right groin contusion, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

Rooker is slashing .281/.398/.535 with 14 homers and 47 RBI over 65 games this season with Triple-A Rochester but will be held out for at least the next seven days while on the mend.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Out again vs. lefty

Choi will head to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

With CC Sabathia in line to take the mound for the opposition, Choi will get another day off. Travis d'Arnaud, who belted three homers Monday night, will lead off and draw the start at first base in Choi's place.

  • AJ Reed DH | HOU

White Sox's AJ Reed: Back in lineup against righty

Reed went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Monday's 5-2 loss to Kansas City.

Reed was back in the lineup with a right-hander dealing for the Royals, the third start in four games for left-handed hitter. He's 1-for-10 with five strikeouts since the White Sox claimed him off waivers. Chicago manager Rick Renteria will give Reed a fair shot to earn a regular role as DH/1B, but the manager may not give him the rest of the season to start hitting. Renteria moved on from Daniel Palka (1-for-35) earlier this season after 13 games.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Heads to bench

Brantley isn't starting Monday's game against the Angels, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Brantley picked up a pair of hits and an RBI in Sunday's matchup with the Rangers, but he'll take a seat for Monday's series opener. Tony Kemp will man left field and hit eighth in Brantley's stead.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Sitting against lefty

Choi is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Both Choi and Nate Lowe will head to the bench with a southpaw (James Paxton) on the bump for New York, but the two could be fighting for one spot in Tampa Bay's regular lineup against right-handed pitchers. Even though Choi is the more battled-tested option at the MLB level, Lowe boasts a higher pedigree and may have surged ahead of Choi in the playing-time battle after batting .471 with three home runs and seven RBI in the four-game series in Baltimore over the weekend.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Has two hits, RBI in win

Brantley went 2-for-5 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 12-4 win over Texas.

Brantley has reached base safely in 12 straight games, posting a .360/.411/.500 slash line during that stretch. He's enjoying his finest season since 2014 while sitting in the middle of the Astros' batting order and leads the team with a .324 batting average.

  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Goes deep in loss

Martinez went 2-for-6 with a solo home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.

After Xander Bogaerts brought Boston to within a run with a solo shot in the eighth inning, Martinez immediately followed with his own blast to tie the score 4-4. The long ball was Martinez's first in July and 19th overall this season. Through 82 games, he is slashing .297/.368/.533 in 330 at-bats.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Hits 17th home run

Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Athletics.

Jimenez gave his club its only lead in the seventh inning when he launched a solo home run to center. The blast was his fifth in the last 11 games and gives him 17 on the season. Jimenez sports a lackluster .244 batting average, but that number is more tolerable for fantasy owners as long as he continues to supply the power.
