Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Won't be moved up in rotation
Ohtani's next start will come Sunday despite the fact that he threw only 30 pitches in his season debut, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Ohtani struggled mightily in his first start of the season Sunday, failing to record an out while allowing five earned runs. The short outing won't result in an adjustment to his pitching schedule, however, as the Angels will stick to the every-Sunday routine they set up prior to the start of the season. That puts Ohtani in line for a tough matchup against Houston on Aug. 2.

Nick Solak 1B | PIT
Rangers' Nick Solak: Steals two bags
Solak started at designated hitter and went 1-for-5 with an RBI and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Diamondbacks.
The Rangers continue to juggle pieces in an effort to get Solak's bat into games. He's hit safely in three straight games with two RBI and two steals. Solak, who's made starts in left field and at DH, may be running out of options soon. Willie Calhoun, who dealt with a hip injury in camp, played the field for the first time Wednesday and may be ready to assume his starting job in left field. And with Shin-Soo Choo the primary designated hitter, Solak's opportunities may dry up.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Not in lineup
Vogelbach is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Angels, Lauren Smith of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Vogelbach will stick on the bench for a fourth straight game with left-hander Andrew Heaney toeing the rubber for the opposition. The left-handed slugger has appeared in three games this season and is 0-for-7 with a 1:3 BB:K. Jose Marmolejos is starting at DH in his place.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Sitting with shoulder soreness
Choi (shoulder) is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Braves.
He exited Tuesday's game with right shoulder soreness and will need at least another day to get right. Yandy Diaz will start at first base while Joey Wendle occupies the hot corner. Choi could be available off the bench, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Buxton is not starting Wednesday against the Cardinals.
Buxton missed the first three games of the season with a sprained left foot, but he returned to action Tuesday. There's been no indication that he re-injured his foot in that contest, so it's likely that he's simply not being asked to start on back-to-back days immediately after returning to the lineup. Jake Cave starts in center field in his absence.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Returns to lineup
Jimenez (head) will bat sixth and play left field Wednesday against Cleveland.
Jimenez was never diagnosed with anything worse than light-headedness after crashing into the outfield wall Sunday, though he remained sidelined while in the league's concussion protocol. He'll return Wednesday, pushing Nicky Delmonico back to the bench.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Athletics' Mark Canha: Plates pair in defeat
Canha went 1-for-2 with two RBI from a sacrifice fly and fielder's choice groundout and also drew a walk during a loss to the Rockies on Tuesday.
Canha's pair of RBI didn't exactly come from the most notable of hits, but they did account for all but one of the Athletics' runs on the night. The veteran outfielder is now tied with Matt Olson for the team lead with five RBI and has hit safely in all four games he's appeared in this season.

Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Looks good in return to lineup
Buxton went 0-for-3 but scored one run and drove in another in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Cardinals.
The center fielder was making his 2020 debut after missing the first few games with a foot injury, and Buxton got an opportunity right away to prove he was OK. After bringing home Luis Arraez in the second inning with a fielder's choice for the Twins' first run of the game, he went first to third on a Max Kepler single and then trotted home on a sac fly by Josh Donaldson. Staying healthy has never been Buxton's strong suit, but after posting a career-high .827 OPS over 87 games last season, the 26-year-old still has a chance to deliver on the upside his speed and athleticism promise.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Leaves with shoulder soreness
Choi exited Tuesday's game against the Braves with right shoulder soreness, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
The 29-year-old was removed after the eighth inning after he sustained the injury while attempting to make a play in the field, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Choi had a rough game before exiting, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts while also committing two errors. The team doesn't believe it's a serious injury, so he should be considered day-to-day.
