Stanton (foot) went 0-for-1 with a strikeout as a pinch hitter in Thursday's game against the Twins.

Manager Aaron Boone was unsure if Stanton would be able to return to the lineup Friday against the Rays, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. Miguel Andujar got the nod at designated hitter Thursday.

Buxton (hip) has not started baseball activities, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "We're still kind of at the beginning phases of getting him moving and activating different parts of his lower half and getting back to some baseball activity," said manager Rocco Baldelli. "We're not quite there yet."

Buxton was placed on the injured list Aug. 23 with a low-grade right hip strain, and it was thought initially he may travel with the Twins during the current road trip for a potential activation. However, now it sounds as though the team will be lucky to see him return in September.

Stanton (foot) isn't starting Thursday against the Twins.

Stanton was sidelined for both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Twins and will remain out of the lineup for Thursday's series finale. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available off the bench, but Miguel Andujar will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth.

Winker went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk in a loss to the White Sox on Wednesday before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the seventh inning.

It was an increasingly rare productive offensive night for Winker, who'd been mired in a 1-for-22 slump over the seven games prior to Wednesday. The offseason addition is trudging through his poorest season at the plate by far in his big-league career, as his .222 average and .352 slugging percentage are both low-water marks. However, Winker has been able to salvage matters to an extent with a .344 on-base percentage that's largely the byproduct of a career-high 15.5 percent walk rate, and he's also been undeniably held back by a .252 BABIP.

Jimenez went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's victory over the Mariners.

Jimenez blasted a two-run homer off righty starter Luis Castillo with two outs in the fourth. The outfielder has hit four home runs and recorded 10 RBI over 42 at-bats in his last 14 games. The 25-year-old is significantly more productive against righties this year, recording a .905 OPS in 180 plate appearances as opposed to a .686 OPS in 56 plate appearances against southpaws.

Martinez returned to the lineup and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to the Rays.

Martinez had missed the previous three games due to back problems. He'll get another off day Thursday before the Red Sox face the Orioles for three games in Baltimore this weekend. The slugger is batting just .200 with two home runs since the All-Star break.

Solak started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Houston.

Solak was added to the roster as part of the September roster expansion last week but hadn't appeared in a game until Wednesday. He's been given chances to stick with the major-league roster the last few seasons, including 127 games in 2021, but it appears Solak's window is closing. The Rangers are looking at prospects younger than the 27-year-old Solak, who could latch on as a utility player in 2023.

Stanton (foot) is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Twins.

The 32-year-old exited Monday's game after fouling a pitching off the top of his foot/ankle, and he'll stay on the bench for both contests of Wednesday's twin bill. Manager Aaron Boone previously indicated Stanton could be available for the nightcap, so it's possible he's available off the bench.

Miller (hip), who is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Astros, is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Blue Jays, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Miller hasn't seen game action since Aug. 31 due to the hip injury, and it appears the Rangers are finally set to move him to the injured list. The transaction will make room on the major-league roster for the promotion of prospect Josh Jung, who should receive an extended look at third base down the stretch for Texas.

Martinez (back) is starting Wednesday against the Rays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Martinez was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to back tightness but will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth a day later. Over his last four games, he's gone 6-for-17 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBI.
