  • Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Racks up three hits, four RBI

Yoshida went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two additional RBI in Thursday's 7-0 win against Oakland.

Yoshida put Boston on the board in the first inning with a two-run single and capped the team's scoring with a two-run homer in the sixth. He finished with his fourth multi-hit effort through nine games in July. Yoshida is batting .333 (12-for-36) over that stretch with two long balls, 11 RBI and five runs.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Mariners' Mitch Garver: On bench Thursday

Garver isn't in the Mariners' lineup versus the Angels on Thursday.

Garver will get some rest after starting in the last six games in which he went 4-for-26 with two home runs. Mitch Haniger is taking over as the designated hitter Thursday and is batting eighth.

  • Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Not in Thursday's lineup

Alvarez (hip) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Marlins.

The 27-year-old was removed from Wednesday's contest due to right hip tightness and will be out of the starting nine for at least one game. Alvarez also sat out a game over the weekend due to knee soreness, and the Astros might be extra cautious with the slugger knowing the All-Star break is just a few days away.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | SD

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Sitting against lefty

O'Hearn isn't in the Orioles' lineup Thursday versus the Cubs.

Left-hander Justin Steele will toe the slab for Chicago on Thursday, forcing the left-handed bat of O'Hearn to stay put in Baltimore's dugout. His absence will move Adley Rutschman to the DH spot while James McCann starts behind the plate.

  • Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Battling hip tightness

Alvarez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Marlins due to right hip tightness, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports. He went 1-for-1 with a single, a walk and a stolen base before departing.

Alvarez remained in the game after a trainer checked on him following his RBI single in the second inning, but the decision to pull him was made when his spot in the order came up in the fourth. The severity of his hip injury remains unknown, though it's possible he sits down another game or two after also missing Sunday's contest due to knee soreness.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Might return without rehab games

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Stanton (hamstring) could skip a rehab assignment and return from the 10-day injured list shortly after the All-Star break, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Stanton did some running Tuesday and has been reincorporating baseball activities into his training regimen of late as he works his way back from a strained left hamstring. He'll need to do some more ramping up before the Yankees are confident that he's ready for game action, but bypassing a rehab assignment would shorten the length of his absence a bit.

  • Trevor Larnach LF | MIN

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Resting for second leg of twin bill

Larnach is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

The Twins are facing a righty (Drew Thorpe) for the second leg of the twin bill, but the lefty-hitting Larnach will head to the bench while manager Rocco Baldelli makes space in the starting nine for the hot-hitting Matt Wallner. Larnach went 0-for-3 with a walk in the Twins' 3-1 loss in Game 1, and he had started in each of the six games in July before that.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TB

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Sitting in second game of twin bill

Jimenez is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Twins.

Jimenez will rest for the second game of the day after he served as Chicago's designated hitter in the team's 3-1 win in the early contest, going 1-for-3 with a base hit. Gavin Sheets will handle DH duties in the nightcap.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | SD

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Resting against southpaw

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

After starting against right-handed pitchers in each of the past three games, O'Hearn will head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Shota Imanaga takes the hill for the Cubs. With O'Hearn receiving the day off, Adley Rutschman will cede catching duties to James McCann and occupy O'Hearn's usual spot in the lineup at designated hitter.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: May go on rehab stint after break

Stanton (hamstring) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment later in July, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

It doesn't appear that Stanton will be ready to rejoin the Yankees immediately after the All-Star break, but he could begin playing in rehab games around that time. The slugger has been running on a treadmill and hitting, though he hasn't yet resumed on-field activities, per MLB.com. It's not yet clear how many rehab games Stanton would be asked to play, but there remains a chance he's activated off the IL before the start of August.
