Garver went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Astros.

The 32-year-old clubbed a two-run homer during the ninth inning off Houston closer Ryan Pressly, but Leody Taveras quickly followed with a lineout to end the game. It's the third straight game with a hit for Garver, though he's still just 3-for-16 since the All-Star break.

Alvarez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Yankees after getting hit in the right hand by a pitch during the ninth inning, and X-rays came back negative after the game, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Alvarez said his concern level is "zero" and doesn't believe further testing will be necessary. Even though his X-rays came back clean, it's possible Alvarez is held out of the lineup for a game or two in order to recover.

Rogers went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a solo home run and an additional run in Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Angels.

Rogers hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, his 12th of the year, then delivered an RBI single during a four-run ninth inning rally. He's now sporting a .760 OPS, which is well ahead of Eric Haase's .529 mark. That should allow Rogers to stick as Detroit's primary catcher, with Haase available to spell him and also play some in the outfield.

Jansen (forearm) isn't starting Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Jansen will now miss two consecutive starts after suffering a bruised left forearm during Sunday's game with the Mariners. Alejandro Kirk will once again start behind the plate and bat sixth.

Vazquez isn't in the Twins' lineup Tuesday against the Mariners.

After going 1-for-3 with an RBI on Monday, Vazquez will get a breather for Tuesday's contest. Ryan Jeffers will take over behind the dish and bat eighth.

Contreras (hip) is starting at catcher and batting fifth Tuesday versus Arizona, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Contreras will return to the lineup after he missed the last two contests with right hip tightness. The 31-year-old has gone 6-for-20 with a homer, two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored over seven contests since the All-Star break.

Fortes is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rays.

Jacob Stallings will do the catching for the Marlins and hit eighth. He and Fortes have basically been splitting starts at the position and neither has produced much offensively.

Stephenson is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Brewers.

Luke Maile will catch Andrew Abbott in what has become a regular tandem. Stephenson carries a relatively unremarkable .252/.334/.365 batting line through 94 games (368 plate appearances) this season with Cincinnati.

Perez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 5-3 win over the Guardians.

Perez's sixth-inning blast gave the Royals enough of a cushion to secure the win. The catcher has gone deep in back-to-back games since he snapped a 19-game power drought. He's hitting just .214 (12-for-56) in July, a slump that's dropped him to a .246/.287/.438 slash line with 17 homers, 43 RBI, 40 runs scored and 15 doubles through 90 contests overall.

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in an extra-inning loss to the Twins on Monday.

The game was scoreless through four frames before Murphy put the Mariners on the board with a 421-foot solo shot to center field in the fifth. It was his seventh homer of the season, six of which have come over his past 14 contests. Murphy has been red-hot over that span, batting .372 (16-for-43) with nine extra-base hits. While he's still behind Cal Raleigh on the depth chart, the productive stretch has earned Murphy more playing time.
