Soderstrom went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 9-4 loss to the Rangers.

Soderstrom had gone 0-for-7 over his first three games since he was called up Sept. 1. His third-inning homer sparked a four-run rally for the Athletics, but that was the extent of their offense in the loss. The catcher is up to three homers, six RBI, eight runs scored and a double while slashing just .158/.231/.263 over 104 plate appearances.

Basallo was promoted from High-A Aberdeen to Double-A Bowie on Sunday, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Basallo was promoted to the High-A club in late July and will move up in the Orioles' farm system once again now that Aberdeen's season has concluded. Basallo performed well over 26 games at the High-A level, slashing .326/.441/.674 with eight home runs, 24 RBI, 20 runs and five stolen bases.

Alvarez underwent an X-ray on his hand that came back negative following Sunday's win over the Twins, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Alvarez was removed from Sunday's matchup in the bottom of the seventh inning after going 1-for-1 while also being hit by a pitch. He's dealing with a hand injury but doesn't appear to be dealing with structural damage. The 21-year-old should tentatively be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's series opener against the Diamondbacks.
