Mark Kolozsvary: Elects free agency
Kolosvary cleared waivers and elected free agency Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Kolozsvary was optioned to Triple-A and later designated for assignment by the Orioles on Wednesday. Rather than accepting an assignment to Norfolk, the 27-year-old backstop will look to catch on with another organization in hopes of remaining on a 40-man roster.

Jake Rogers C | DET
Tigers' Jake Rogers: Not starting Friday
Rogers is not in the lineup Friday against the Twins.
Eric Haase will catch and bat eighth after Rogers started the last two games for Detroit. The 28-year-old has been the more reliable defender and productive hitter in 2023, but Haase continues to get fairly regular playing time.

Chad Wallach C | ATH
Angels' Chad Wallach: Swats sixth homer
Wallach went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday in a 5-3 victory over the Rangers.
Wallach opened the scoring in the contest with a 424-foot solo shot to center field. The homer extended his modest hitting streak to five games, during which he's gone 5-for-11 with two long balls, three RBI and four runs. Wallach has launched six home runs and is slashing .280/.341/.547 in just 82 plate appearances on the campaign. Those solid numbers are starting to earn him more playing time, as Wallach has started behind the plate in each of the Angels' past three contests.

Braves' Sean Murphy: Day off Friday

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Three hits in victory
Murphy went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Thursday's win over Colorado.
Murphy had been slumping a bit coming into Thursday's contest, going 4-for-26 (.154) over his last eight games -- his three-hit effort was his first multi-hit game since June 3. Overall, the 28-year-old backstop is still slashing a strong .285/.384/.535 with 12 homers, 33 runs scored and 42 RBI through 232 plate appearances in his first season with Atlanta.
