Jose Godoy C | TEX
Orioles' Jose Godoy: Optioned to Triple-A
Godoy was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Godoy was up with the big club as their backup catcher for a couple days, but the Orioles have elected to swap him out with Anthony Bemboom. The 28-year-old will head back to Norfolk to join the affiliate's catching corps.

Christian Vazquez C | HOU
Twins' Christian Vazquez: Belts first homer
Vazquez went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk Monday in a loss to the Red Sox.
Vazquez accounted for all of Minnesota's runs in the contest with his three-run shot in the fifth inning. It was the first long ball in what has been a poor offensive campaign for the backstop, as he's posted a .224/.299/.286 slash line over 164 plate appearances. Vazquez went deep 23 times for Boston in in 2019 but hasn't exceeded double-digit homers in any of his other eight major-league campaigns.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Hit by foul ball, X-rays negative
Alvarez was removed from Monday's game against the Astros after fouling a ball off his right hand, but initial X-rays came back negative, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored prior to his departure.
Alvarez will presumably undergo more tests Tuesday to determine the severity of his injury, but it's very possible the young backstop is held out of Tuesday's lineup. Fantasy managers should consider him as day-to-day for now.

William Contreras C | MIL
Brewers' William Contreras: Day off Monday
Contreras is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Diamondbacks.
Contreras will head to the bench after he went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Pirates. Victor Caratini continues to operate as Corbin Burnes' preferred catcher and he will bat eighth in the series opener with Arizona on Monday.

Tyler Heineman C | TOR
Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: Back with big club
The Blue Jays recalled Heineman from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.
He'll provide the Blue Jays with an extra body at catcher behind No. 1 backstop Danny Jansen after Alejandro Kirk (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. Jansen should handle the bulk of the work behind the dish while Kirk is on the shelf, so Heineman may be in store for just a couple starts per week during his upcoming stint in the big leagues.

Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Heads to IL
The Blue Jays placed Kirk (hand) on the 10-day injured list Monday.
Kirk sustained a laceration in addition to some bruising to his left hand after being hit by a pitch in Sunday's 11-7 loss to the Rangers, and the Blue Jays evidently determined that his injury wasn't something he would fully recover from in just a couple of days. As a result, Kirk will hit the shelf for what could be a minimum-length stay, provided he doesn't experience any setbacks once he resumes baseball activities. Toronto called up Tyler Heineman from Triple-A Buffalo to provide depth behind top backstop Danny Jansen.

Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Sidelined Monday
Kirk (hand) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.
Kirk was fortunate to avoid a fracture when his left hand was hit by a pitch in Sunday's 11-7 loss to the Rangers, but he sustained a cut and a bruise and will get at least one day off to recover. Danny Jansen draws the starting nod behind the plate in Monday's series opener in Miami, while rookie Spencer Horwitz serves as Toronto's designated hitter.

Jonah Heim C | ATH
Rangers' Jonah Heim: Homers in second straight
Heim went 1-for-4 with a walk and solo home run in Sunday's 11-7 win over the Blue Jays.
Heim led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a home run to knot the game after the Rangers fell behind, 6-0, early. It was the second straight game with a home run for Heim, who has nine for the season along with 49 RBI through 62 games. He served as the designated hitter Sunday while Mitch Garver caught, something the Rangers can do more of with three catchers on the roster. Keeping Heim fresh over the long haul is a goal after the backstop tired over the second half of 2022.
