Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Exits starting nine
Smith is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the White Sox.
Smith started each of the previous three games at catcher but will begin Wednesday's contest on the bench. Austin Barnes will step in behind the plate Wednesday.

David Fry C | CLE
Guardians' David Fry: Heading to bench Wednesday
Fry is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
After leaving Sunday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays earlier due to elbow inflammation, Fry returned to the lineup as a designated hitter for both of the Guardians' first two games in Baltimore, going 2-for-8 with two doubles and an RBI. The Guardians haven't indicated that Fry is dealing with a setback with the elbow, so his absence from the lineup Wednesday is likely just a pre-planned maintenance day.

Bo Naylor C | CLE
Guardians' Bo Naylor: Taking seat Wednesday
Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Baltimore.
Naylor will get some rest in the series finale after he caught both of the Guardians' last two contests while going 4-for-8 with two doubles, one triple, three runs and two RBI. Austin Hedges will pick up the start behind the plate Wednesday.

Cal Raleigh C | SEA
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Slugs 14th homer
Raleigh went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 5-2 win over Tampa Bay.
The Mariners had gone scoreless through five until Raleigh connected for the deciding hit of the game. His 14th homer of the season ties him for the MLB lead at the position, tied with Shea Langeliers and Adley Rutschman. Raleigh now has two home runs in his last three games after a stretch in which he hit only one over 29 games.

Matt Thaiss C | BOS
Angels' Matt Thaiss: Getting start with O'Hoppe resting
Thaiss will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
With top backstop Logan O'Hoppe getting a rare day off, Thaiss will start for just the fifth time in June. Thaiss' playing time will likely remain fairly limited throughout the season if O'Hoppe is able to stay healthy.

Shea Langeliers C | ATH
Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Receiving afternoon off
Langeliers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Langeliers will get a breather after he had started behind the plate in each of the Athletics' previous three contests. Kyle McCann will step in at catcher, forming a battery with right-hander Joey Estes.

Logan O'Hoppe C | LAA
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Getting day off Wednesday
O'Hoppe is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Athletics.
O'Hoppe had started each of the previous 11 games -- including 10 at catcher -- so the Angels determined it was time to give him a breather. Matt Thaiss will start behind the plate for the Halos in Wednesday's series finale.

Yasmani Grandal C | PIT
Pirates' Yasmani Grandal: Getting rest day
Grandal is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Grandal will get a breather for the day game Wednesday after he started behind the dish in each of the Pirates' last three contests. Jason Delay will spell Grandal, forming a battery with starting pitcher Luis Ortiz.

Alex Jackson C | MIN
Rays' Alex Jackson: Starting in place of resting Rortvedt
Jackson will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Mariners, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Jackson will get a turn behind the plate while top backstop Ben Rortvedt rests for the day game after a night game. Since his call-up from Triple-A Durham on May 3, Jackson is hitting a lowly .081/.159/.161 with 31 strikeouts in 70 plate appearances.
