Goodman is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Brewers.

It's the first day off this season for Goodman, who has made six starts at catcher and three starts at designated hitter in the Rockies' first nine games. Jacob Stallings is behind the dish and batting eighth Tuesday, while Kris Bryant is serving as the DH.

The Red Sox recalled Sabol from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Sabol will be No. 2 behind Carlos Narvaez on Boston's catching depth chart while Connor Wong (finger) is out. The 27-year-old has slashed .243/.313/.392 over 121 career games at the major-league level.

The Red Sox placed Wong on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured left finger, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Wong suffered the injury Monday versus the Blue Jays when his hand was hit by a bat on a catcher's interference. It's not yet clear how long he will be sidelined, but it will surely be more than a minimum stay on the IL. Carlos Narvaez will be Boston's primary catcher while Wong is out and Blake Sabol has been recalled to back Narvaez up.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Alvarez (hand) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday at Single-A St. Lucie, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The 23-year-old took live batting practice Tuesday, and that was apparently the final hurdle before being cleared for game action. Alvarez has been sidelined for the past month due to a hamate fracture in his left hand for which he underwent surgery, and he'll likely need at least a handful of games in the minors to get up to speed before making his 2025 debut for the Mets.

The Tigers selected Nido's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

He'll serve as Detroit's No. 2 catcher behind Dillon Dingler while Jake Rogers (oblique) is on the 10-day injured list. Nido is a defense-first catcher who owns a career .554 OPS over parts of eight big-league seasons.

The Tigers placed Rogers on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a left oblique strain, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Rogers tweaked his oblique in the batting cage Tuesday and the team has opted to go ahead and place him on the IL. He will be eligible to return April 18, but it's too soon to know whether Rogers might be activated at that time. Thomas Nido was called up from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move and will serve as Detroit's No. 2 catcher while Dillon Dingler takes over as the team's primary backstop.

Alvarez (hand) took live batting practice on the field Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Alvarez had been hitting in the cage, but Tuesday marked the first time that he took batting practice on the field since he underwent surgery on a fractured hamate bone in his left hand back on March 10. While the Mets haven't revealed a specific timetable for their starting catcher's return, Alvarez's recovery has come along nicely, and he could make it back before the end of April if all goes well.

Torrens (forearm) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Hayden Senger will pick up a fourth consecutive start while Torrens gets another day off to recover from a right forearm bruise. Torrens made an appearance off the bench Friday, and the Mets haven't added another healthy catcher to the roster, so for the time being, the 28-year-old doesn't look as though he'll require a stint on the injured list.

Rogers was scratched from Tuesday's lineup versus the Yankees due to left oblique tightness, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Oblique injuries often lead to stints on the injured list, although it's not yet clear whether Rogers' is serious enough to warrant a trip to the IL. Dillon Dingler has replaced him in the lineup and would be in line for an uptick in playing time should Rogers miss additional time.

Bart went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple and two runs scored in Monday's win over St. Louis.

Bart drilled a solo shot in the first inning and added an RBI triple in the seventh. Those were his first two extra-base hits of the season. He had been stuck in a 2-for-16 skid since his last multi-hit performance in Miami on March 29. Bart is slashing .250/.351/.406 with four runs scored through 37 plate appearances.
