    Maldonado is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

    After starting behind the plate in three of the Friars' previous four contests, Maldonado will get a breather for the final game before the All-Star break. Elias Diaz will step in at catcher for the Padres on Sunday.

    Orioles' David Banuelos: Called up Sunday

    The Orioles recalled Banuelos from Triple-A Norfolk ahead of Sunday's game against the Marlins.

    Banuelos will provide Baltimore with some extra catching depth for the final game of the season's first half. He went 0-for-1 in his lone plate appearance for the Orioles when he was up with the big club for a doubleheader with the Mets on Thursday.

    Langeliers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

    Austin Wynns will pick up the start behind the plate while Langeliers rests in the series finale. Langeliers had started in seven of the previous eight contests, going 3-for-28 (.107 average) with a 1:8 BB:K during that stretch.

    Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Resting for series finale

    Jeffers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

    Jeffers will get a routine breather after he had started four of the Twins' previous five contests. Christian Vazquez will handle catching duties for Minnesota in the team's final game before the All-Star break.

  • Guardians' Austin Hedges: Returning to bench Sunday

    Hedges is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

    Bo Naylor will return to the lineup after Hedges had started behind the plate in three of the Guardians' last four games. Though the Guardians have turned the catcher position into more of a timeshare lately, Hedges' playing time should fall by the wayside as soon as Naylor begins to heat back up. Naylor is batting just .174 on the season, but he's gone 5-for-20 with three doubles and a 2:3 BB:K over his last seven games.

    Astros' Yainer Diaz: Receiving Sunday off

    Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

    Diaz will sit after a run of eight straight starts, during which he went 8-for-30 (.267) with two doubles, three homers and a stolen base. Victor Caratini will do the catching Sunday while Isaac Paredes serves as the designated hitter.

    Rangers' Jonah Heim: Out of Sunday's lineup

    Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

    Heim had started the previous 16 games and wasn't productive at the plate during that stretch with a .203/.261/.313 slash line. Kyle Higashioka will replace Heim behind the dish Sunday.

  • Rockies' Hunter Goodman: On bench for first-half finale

    Goodman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

    Goodman started the first two games of the series in Cincinnati and will take a seat Sunday after going 1-for-6 with two walks, a triple and a run. Austin Nola will step in behind the plate to catch Austin Gomber for the final game before the All-Star break.

    Rays' Danny Jansen: Getting afternoon off

    Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

    Matt Thaiss will step in behind the plate while Jansen rests after starting at catcher in the Rays' previous two contests. Unless he's used off the bench Sunday, Jansen will wrap up Tampa Bay's first-half slate with a .207 average, nine home runs, 27 RBI and 24 runs over 66 games.

  • Orioles' Jacob Stallings: Resting up Sunday

    Stallings is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

    Alex Jackson will handle catching duties for Baltimore after Stallings started behind the plate the last two contests and five of the previous six. Stallings will likely continue to operate as the Orioles' No. 1 catcher until the team gets one of Adley Rutschman (oblique) or Gary Sanchez (knee) back, with Chadwick Tromp (back) and Maverick Handley (concussion) also currently on the injured list.
