Quero suffered a hamstring injury late in spring training and should be assigned to Triple-A Nashville in late-April, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.

He is also still building back up from last year's right shoulder surgery, as he was starting spring games at designated hitter. It may take Quero some time to knock the rust off at the dish, but his defense behind the plate is already big-league ready. The 22-year-old backstop slashed .262/.339/.440 with 16 home runs, five steals and a 17.8 percent strikeout rate in 90 games at Double-A in 2023 and only played one game last year at Triple-A.

Triple-A Durham placed Keegan on the 7-day injured list with an elbow injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.

He was back to throwing by mid-March but opened the year on the shelf. Keegan is the best hitter of the Rays' catching prospects, but his defense is suspect and could limit his playing time in the majors. Keegan hit .285/.371/.435 with nine home runs and a 20.4 percent strikeout rate in 104 games last year as a 23-year-old at Double-A.

Wells is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Diamondbacks.

Wells receives a well-earned breather after starting each of the Yankees' first five games at catcher. J.C. Escarra will be behind the plate, batting eighth Thursday.

Diaz is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

Diaz started at catcher in each of the three games this week against the Giants, but he will take a day off in the series opener versus the Twins. Victor Caratini will do the catching and bat sixth Thursday.

Moreno is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Yankees.

Moreno was at catcher in Wednesday's night game, so he'll get some rest for Thursday's afternoon affair. Jose Herrera is starting behind the plate and batting ninth in Thursday's series finale.

O'Hoppe went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Wednesday's loss to St. Louis.

O'Hoppe's seventh-inning grand slam gave the Angels a 5-3 lead, but the Cardinals racked up nine runs the rest of the way to turn the outcome into a rout. O'Hoppe's long ball was his first hit since Opening Day, when he also went deep. The backstop belted 20 homers last year but also had a 29.7 percent strikeout rate, and he's fanned 37.5 percent of the time to go along with his two home runs through 16 plate appearances so far this season.

Vazquez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Astros.

In what was a familiar trend last season, Vazquez and Ryan Jeffers have alternated turns behind the plate through Minnesota's first seven games of 2025. While Vazquez should be in line for more work than most No. 2 backstops around the league, he's still unlikely to see a high enough volume of plate appearances to warrant intrigue in fantasy outside of AL-only leagues or deeper mixed leagues that start two catchers.

Wong is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore.

Wong will be given some rest in Thursday's matinee after he did the catching in Wednesday's night game. Carlos Narvaez will be behind the plate and bat eighth for Boston.

Goodman went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.

Goodman collected half of Colorado's four hits in the contest, including both of the team's extra-base knocks. He also prevented the Rockies from being shut out with his seventh-inning solo shot off Phillies ace Zack Wheeler. Goodman started at catcher for the fourth time this season, and he has also logged one start at DH. The Rockies appear determined to get his bat into the lineup on a near-everyday basis, as he's slashing .386/.400/.842 with two homers, three doubles, three RBI and three runs through 20 plate appearances.

Herrera went 3-for-4 with a walk, three home runs and six RBI in Wednesday's 12-5 win over the Angels.

The 24-year-old took Yusei Kikuchi deep in the fourth and sixth innings before capping his huge performance with an eighth-inning blast off Brock Burke. In the process, Herrera became the first catcher in Cardinals history with a three-homer game. The long balls were also the first of the season for Herrera, and through five appearances so far in 2025 he's batting .467 (7-for-15) with two doubles, five runs and eight RBI.
