Vazquez sits for the second time this weekend while Sandy Leon receives a turn behind the plate. The 28-year-old Vazquez still has a stranglehold on the top spot on the depth chart, but he won't be asked to handle the overwhelming share of starts like many No. 1 backstops around the league.

Maldonado is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Maldonado will sit out the series finale as part of a planned maintenance day. No. 2 catcher Cam Gallagher will slot in behind the dish, working in a battery with Brad Keller.

Plawecki will start at catcher and bat ninth Sunday against the Mariners, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Plawecki was previously behind the plate in Friday's series opener, going hitless in three at-bats in the Tribe's 2-1 win. Despite picking up his second start in three days, Plawecki still looks to be locked in as the No. 2 catcher behind Roberto Perez, whose defense prowess provides greater value to the Indians than Plawecki's on-base skills.

Perez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Perez finds himself on the bench for the second time in three days, but it's still believed that he's the Tribe's preferred option behind the plate. The 30-year-old's defensive acumen and experience working with the Cleveland pitching staff helps keep his spot atop the depth chart secure, but he's offering little assistance to fantasy owners. Entering play Sunday, Perez maintains a .227 average to go with three home runs, seven RBI and four runs across 76 plate appearances.

Grandal is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Grandal went 0-for-7 with a walk and a run while catching all 18 innings of Saturday's 4-3 win, so he's more than deserving of a breather in the series finale. Manny Pina will work in a battery with Zach Davies for Sunday's matinee affair.

Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Realmuto is sitting out for just the fifth time in 33 games this season in what amounts to a routine rest day. Andrew Knapp gets a rare turn behind the plate in Realmuto's stead, catching for Phillies starter Zach Eflin.

Davis went 1-for-3 with a grand slam in a 6-5 win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Davis, who was called up Friday from Triple-A Iowa, brought the Cubs back from a 5-1 deficit with his fourth-inning shot off Michael Wacha. The 29-year-old has only received 23 major-league at-bats spread over three seasons and the home run was the first of his career. He is expected to serve as the team's No. 2 catcher during Victor Caratini's absence.

Barnes is not in Saturday's lineup against the Padres, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

After slumping for a couple weeks in the middle of April, Barnes is 6-for-20 (.300) with two home runs in his last six games. Russell Martin will start at catcher, hitting sixth.
