Barnhart was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to a sore right side, John Fay of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Curt Casali will enter the lineup in place of Barnhart, who should be considered day-to-day.

Garver is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Rays, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

Garver went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rays, but he'll give way to Jason Castro behind the dish Wednesday as the Twins ease him back into action after he missed three games over the weekend due to a heel injury.

Casali is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Angels.

Casali has started three of the past four games behind the dish, going 1-for-9 with two RBI and a 3:5 BB:K during that stretch. Tucker Barnhart is starting at catcher and hitting eighth in this one.

Smith has been sent back down to Triple-A Oklahoma City, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Smith was called back up June 23 and cranked a pinch-hit walk-off home run in one of his five at-bats, but it will be a short stint as he'll head back to Oklahoma City as the corresponding roster move for the callup of Tony Gonsolin. Per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, manager Dave Roberts said sending Smith down "was a tough one" but that the 24-year-old needs regular at-bats that he wouldn't be able to get with the big club. Overall, Smith has slashed .269/.345/.654 in 26 big-league at-bats this season.

Bemboom (knee) caught five innings and went 0-for-3 in his first rehab game Wednesday with High-A Charlotte.

Bemboom was expected to initiate a rehab assignment last weekend before the Rays instead opted to give him a few extra days to rest up. After recently shifting from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL, Bemboom won't be eligible for reinstatement until mid-July, so he'll likely remain on the rehab assignment through the All-Star break.

Barnes is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Barnes will sit after starting the past three games and going 0-for-6 with three strikeouts. In his place, Russell Martin is starting behind the dish and hitting eighth.

Mejia will serve as the Padres' designated hitter and will bat sixth Wednesday against the Orioles.

Mejia caught all nine innings of Tuesday's 8-3 win, reaching base three times on the night while slugging a solo home run. Thanks to the DH spot being available in Baltimore, Mejia will stick in the lineup for the day game after the night game, marking his sixth start in seven contests. The Padres seem content to roll with Mejia as their primary option behind the plate while he sports a hot bat.

Gallagher will start at catcher and bat eighth Wednesday against the Indians.

Gallagher remains the clear No. 2 backstop behind Martin Maldonado and will be picking up just his seventh start of June. Unsurprisingly, Gallagher's spotty playing time hasn't helped his cause at the plate, as he'll enter the series finale with a lowly .426 OPS across 84 plate appearances for the season.

Maldonado is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Indians.

Backup catcher Cam Gallagher will receive a turn behind the plate in the series finale while Maldonado picks up a routine breather. Maldonado started the first two games of the series, going 3-for-7 with a pair of doubles in those contests to lift his season average to .220.

Vazquez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Vazquez will take a seat after receiving the last three starts behind the plate for Boston. No. 2 backstop Sandy Leon will check into the lineup in the series finale, working in a battery with Chris Sale.
