Thaiss will start at third base and bat eighth Sunday against the Orioles, Maria Torres of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Thaiss's playing time had been trending down at the start of the second half, but he'll pick up his fourth consecutive start at either corner-infield spot in the series finale. The matchup with Baltimore's lowly pitching staff has woken Thaiss's dormant bat up to some extent this weekend, as he's gone 2-for-8 with a home run and a pair of walks in the first three games of the series.

Gallagher is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Indians.

He'll head to the bench for a routine rest after starting the past two games behind the plate. Meibrys Viloria will handle catching duties in the series finale.

McCann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

McCann will effectively benefit from two off days in a row with the White Sox having an open date in the schedule Monday before returning to action Tuesday against the Mets. With 66 starts at catcher and eight appearances as a designated hitter this season, McCann has shouldered one of the heavier workloads among all MLB backstops. While McCann will continue to work as the No. 1 catcher ahead of Welington Castillo, manager Rick Renteria suggested Sunday that the White Sox would look to reduce McCann's overall starting load during the final two months of the season, per James Fegan of The Athletic.

Garver is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Stuck in an 0-for-12 rut at the plate over his last three starts, Garver will give way to Jason Castro at catcher in the series finale. Garver will likely re-enter the starting nine for Tuesday's series opener in Miami.

Gomes is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Gomes is on the bench for the sixth time in nine games, signaling that he's fallen behind Kurt Suzuki on the depth chart at catcher. The downturn in Gomes' usage doesn't come as a surprise, given that he's batting just .194/.294/.299 since the beginning of May. For the season, Suzuki holds a 163-point edge in OPS.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Jansen is just receiving a breather after drawing each of the past three turns behind the dish. The recently recalled Reese McGuire will step in at catcher Sunday for his first start at the MLB level in 2019.

Stallings will start at catcher and bat ninth Sunday against the Mets.

He'll be behind the plate for the fourth time in six games with manager Clint Hurdle opting for more of a timeshare at catcher lately in light of Elias Diaz's second-half struggles. Stallings has only marginally outperformed Diaz on the offensive end since the All-Star break and boasts a less impressive track record at the big-league level, so it's probably too early to anoint Stallings as Option 1A in the timeshare.

Manager Clint Hurdle had settled into a pattern of alternating the catching starts between Diaz and Jacob Stallings over the past week, but Diaz will now sit for consecutive days to wrap up the series in New York. The downturn in playing time is likely a reaction to Diaz's 5-for-38 start to the second half, which has resulted in his season-long batting average dropping from .274 to .249.

Narvaez went 4-for-5 with two runs scored in a win over Detroit on Saturday.

Narvaez was unable to rack up any RBI as all four of his hits were singles, and he never batted with a runner in scoring position. The 27-year-old is enjoying a productive season in which he's slashing .298/.369/.483 with 16 home runs in 90 games.

Nola went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, three RBI, a double and a triple in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Tigers.

Nola delivered an extra-base hit with two runners on base twice Saturday to record his second three-RBI performance of the season. The 29-year-old has started six of the last eight games and is 9-for-27 with two doubles, a triple, a home run and six RBI in that stretch. Nola could continue to see increased opportunities while Dee Gordon (quadriceps) remains on the injured list.
