Garver went 2-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI and a walk in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Indians.

Garver provided an early lead with his first-inning solo shot and then came through again in the seventh with a three-run blast to put the Twins ahead for good. The 28-year-old continued his breakout campaign and has a .275/.364/.634 slash line with 28 home runs and 61 RBI in only 313 plate appearances.

Grandal went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Cubs.

Grandal came through in the eighth inning for the Brewers, as his 397-foot shot to center field tied the game 2-2 and set the stage for Christian Yelich's walkoff in the ninth. The veteran backstop has found his power stroke over the last five games, going 8-for-21 with four home runs, a double, six runs scored and five RBI.

Smith went 2-for-3 in a 1-0 loss to the Giants on Saturday.

Smith accounted for exactly half of the Dodgers' hits on the night. The catcher is now batting .273/.345/.641 with 13 homers, 34 RBI and 23 runs scored across 145 plate appearances this year.

Sanchez went 1-for-2 with a two-run double, two walks and two runs scored in a 5-1 victory over Boston on Saturday.

Serving as the clean-up hitter, Sanchez got the Yankees on the board with a fourth-inningdouble to right field that drove in two. The 26-year-old has delivered 34 homers and 76 RBI and is slashing .237/.320/.542 in 380 at-bats this season.

D'Arnaud (neck/shoulder) could make a pinch-hit appearance Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

D'Arnaud was dinged up behind the plate Thursday and manager Kevin Cash decided the backstop could use an extra day off, though it sounds like d'Arnaud is fine for the most part. While he's cooled down after a red-hot month of July, d'Arnaud still ranks among the top 10 catchers in earned value this season.

Davis was designated for assignment Saturday.

Davis was removed from the 40-man roster to clear a spot for Danny Hultzen, whose contract was purchased in a corresponding move. The 29-year-old has just 39 career big-league plate appearances and is unlikely to be a particularly desirable player on the waiver wire.

Contreras is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers.

It's his second straight day out of the lineup. Thankfully, this was all part of the plan from the beginning and is not indicative of a setback; Contreras told Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times that the plan to ease him back from his hamstring injury included Friday and Saturday off. He should be back behind the plate Sunday.

Nola is not starting Saturday against Houston, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Even with a two-homer game Thursday, Nola is still hitting just .149/.255/.298 over his last 14 contests. Daniel Vogelbach will start at first base Saturday, with Omar Narvaez serving as the designated hitter.

Narvaez (back) will return to the lineup as a designated hitter Saturday against the Astros, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Narvaez hadn't been in the lineup since Sunday while battling back spasms. He's apparently still not ready to catch but has been cleared to hit. Tom Murphy will catch Yusei Kikuchi on Saturday.

Trevino is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore.

The Rangers have alternated between one start for Jeff Mathis and two for Trevino over the last 10 games. Mathis takes his turn behind the plate Saturday.
