Nola will be placed on the 10-day injured list due to a slight knee sprain, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Nola had been held out of the lineup for four of the last five games, and manager Jayce Tingler revealed that the catcher has been dealing with a knee issue. However, Tingler was encouraged by Nola's diagnosis and said that the 31-year-old could return after a couple weeks. Victor Caratini should serve as the primary catcher going forward, while the team will likely call up a third catcher once Nola is officially placed on the injured list.

Barnhart isn't starting Thursday's game against the Nationals.

The Reds and Nationals finished a suspended game Thursday afternoon, so Barnhart will get a breather for the nightcap. Tyler Stephenson will start at catcher while Alex Blandino starts at first base.

Jansen isn't starting Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

Jansen went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts in Tuesday's matchup. Reese McGuire will start behind the plate and bat ninth in Thursday's matinee.

Sanchez isn't starting Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.

Sanchez went 0-for-7 with a run, a walk and three strikeouts across the last two games. Kyle Higashioka will start behind the plate and bat ninth in the matinee.

Mejia will sit for the second straight day Thursday against the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Mejia and Mike Zunino have split time very evenly this season when both have been healthy, so the fact that Zunino has now started three times in four games doesn't necessarily indicate a shift in the balance between the pair. Mejia owns a career-best .784 OPS so far this year, though Zunino has outperformed him, posting an .869 OPS, another career best.

Nola isn't starting Thursday's game against the Brewers.

Nola will retreat to the bench for the fourth time in the last five games as he may have lost his spot as the primary catcher for now. Victor Caratini will start behind the dish and bat seventh.

Narvaez isn't starting Thursday's game against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Narvaez had started each of the last two games and went 1-for-6 with a double and two strikeouts during that time. Manny Pina will start behind the plate and bat fourth.

Rogers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against Cleveland.

Rogers will cede catching duties to Eric Haase in the series finale after starting in three of the Tigers' last four games. The 26-year-old Rogers looks like he could be the Tigers' primary option behind the plate while Wilson Ramos (back) and Grayson Greiner (hamstring) are on the injured list.

Stallings is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Michael Perez will catch Tyler Anderson in the series finale after Stallings was behind the plate in each of Pittsburgh's last three games. After going 0-for-4 in Wednesday's 4-1 loss, Stallings is now sitting on a .240/.343/.421 slash line for the season.

Contreras went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 9-5 loss to the Red Sox.

His ninth-inning solo shot off Matt Andriese was too little, too late for Atlanta. Contreras continues to hold his own since being forced into the starting job by a thumb injury to Travis d'Arnaud, slashing .237/.343/.542 over 19 games with five homers and 15 RBI.
