Marchan will be recalled by the Phillies on Saturday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Marchan will provide depth behind the plate since Andrew Knapp will enter the concussion protocol after he exited Friday's game against the Giants. The 22-year-old has appeared in five major-league games this year and has gone 3-for-13 with a double, two runs, a walk and four strikeouts.

Gomes isn't in the lineup for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Gomes went 4-for-11 with two homers, six RBI and three runs across the last three games, and he'll get a breather for Saturday's matinee. Alex Avila will start behind the plate and bat seventh.

McCann isn't starting Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

McCann will retreat to the bench for the third time in the last four games. Tomas Nido will start behind the dish in the matinee and bat eighth.

Contreras went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 9-1 win over the Cardinals.

His blast to lead off the second inning against Carlos Martinez put Atlanta ahead 2-1, and the team never looked back. Contreras has been hit-or-miss lately, recording three multi-hit performances in his last seven starts but going just 1-for-16 in the other four. The rookie is batting .243 on the year with seven homers and 21 RBI through 34 contests.

Vazquez (illness) went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's 5-3 loss to Kansas City.

The catcher didn't ultimately miss a game after exiting Wednesday's contest versus Atlanta with a stomach illness. Vazquez has hit well in June, going 16-for-50 (.320) in his last 14 games. He's slashing .267/.310/.367 with three home runs, 12 doubles, 28 RBI, 27 runs scored and six stolen bases across 226 plate appearances.

Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 5-3 win over Boston.

The catcher gave Kansas City some insurance with his solo shot in the seventh inning. Perez has homered in consecutive games, and he's gone yard eight times through 16 games in June. The power surge has lifted his slash line to .291/.323/.543 with 18 long balls, 46 RBI, 34 runs scored and 13 doubles through 279 plate appearances. His career high in homers is 27, set in both 2017 and 2018, but he's on pace to smash that mark this year.

Murphy is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Rays.

Murphy got a breather Wednesday before returning to the lineup for Thursday's series opener. He'll rest his legs once again Friday, with Luis Torrens set to catch Yusei Kikuchi.

Godoy was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Godoy has struggled at the plate since getting his first big-league call-up May 20, logging just six hits in 40 plate appearances. He'll head back to Tacoma for the time being, with Tom Murphy and Luis Torrens set to man the major-league catching duties for the time being.

Realmuto isn't starting Friday's game against the Giants.

Realmuto had reached base safely in each of the last five games, and he went 5-for-20 with a double, three RBI, two runs, two walks and four strikeouts during that time. Andrew Knapp will take over at catcher and bat eighth.

Nola is progressing in his recovery from a sprained left knee, the Associated Press reports.

Nola has been said to be showing improvement for over a week, though he has yet to progress to a rehab assignment. Manager Jayce Tingler indicated earlier this week that such an assignment is unlikely to happen until closer to the end of the month. While Nola is out, Victor Caratini will continue to function as the Padres' primary catcher.
