Saturday marks the third consecutive start Higashioka will miss since he strained his hamstring during Tuesday's contest. Manager Bruce Bochy previously said he was hopeful the 35-year-old catcher could avoid a trip to the injured list, though that may change if his absence extends another couple of games. Jonah Heim will draw another start behind the plate and bat ninth Saturday.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Braves' Sean Murphy: Not starting Saturday

Murphy is not part of Atlanta's starting nine for Saturday's matchup against Texas.

Wong's slashing .151/.231/.161 over 37 games. Per Sean McAdam of MassLive.com, the Red Sox have some interest in adding a catcher at the trade deadline as a Wong replacement. Wong was Boston's catching leader the last two seasons but lost the job to Carlos Narvaez early in 2025 when he landed on the injured list with a finger injury.

  • Austin Wells C | NYY

The 28-year-old backstop has been swinging a hotter bat of late, now batting 9-for-32 (.281) with seven RBI across his last eight games.
