  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

Mariners' Omar Narvaez: Continues hitting well

Narvaez went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run in a loss to the Rangers on Tuesday.

His throwing error in the first inning did get matters off on the wrong foot for the Mariners, but Narvaez continued with his strong contributions at the plate. The 27-year-old's seventh multi-hit effort of May snapped a two-game, 0-for-8 funk and pushed his average during the month to an impressive .299.

  • James McCann C | ARI

White Sox's James McCann: Has another three-hit day

McCann went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's regularly scheduled game against the Royals.

The White Sox and Royals played a modified doubleheader Tuesday, finishing off Monday's suspended game in the afternoon before playing the regularly scheduled tilt at night. McCann had himself quite a couple of days, going 6-for-8 with a double and three runs scored to raise his average to .350, well above his career mark of .248. He's likely to sit out Wednesday's series finale.

  • Gary Sanchez DH | MIL

Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Blasts 17th homer

Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-4 loss to the Padres on Tuesday.

The homer by Sanchez to dead center field cut the Padre lead to 4-1 for the only run against Eric Lauer. The round-tripper was his fifth in nine games, and his 17th homer out of 37 total hits. He also has 33 RBI and a .264/.335/.657 slash line in 140 at-bats.

  • James McCann C | ARI

White Sox's James McCann: Scores winning run

McCann went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Royals in the completion of Monday's suspended game.

McCann scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning. After a quick break, McCann was back at it in the regularly scheduled game Tuesday night. Prior to Monday's action, the 28-year-old backstop told Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times that he's ready for an added workload with Welington Castillo (concussion) on the injured list.

  • Royals' Martin Maldonado: Sits after suspended game

Maldonado is out of the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the White Sox.

Maldonado played the final four-plus innings of Monday's suspended game earlier Tuesday, so it's no major surprise to see him on the bench for the regularly scheduled contest. Cam Gallagher will start behind the dish and bat eighth in his absence.

  • Sandy Leon C | ATL

Red Sox's Sandy Leon: Homers in win

Leon went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Monday's 12-5 win over the Indians.

Leon put a cap on Boston's six-run fifth inning that broke open a knotted game. It was his second homer in 2019, both three-run jobs. Leon is batting just .174, but his skills behind the plate will keep him in the lineup three times a week. Boston's pitchers have a 3.44 ERA when pitching to Leon.

  • Gary Sanchez DH | MIL

Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Smashes 16th homer

Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-2 victory against the Padres on Monday.

This was a typical performance for Sanchez, who is batting .265 but owns a .647 slugging percentage this season. He has 36 hits this year -- 19 of them have gone for extra bases, including 16 home runs. He also has 32 RBI and 22 runs in 136 at-bats.

  • Rays' Travis d'Arnaud: Bangs out two doubles

D'Arnaud went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored in Monday's 8-3 win over the Blue Jays.

The catcher had gone just 3-for-29 (.103 batting average) since joining the Rays earlier in May, but d'Arnaud doubled that hit total in one fell swoop. He's still looking for his first RBI with Tampa, and time could be running out for him to get it with Mike Zunino (quad) and Michael Perez (oblique) both close to beginning rehab assignments.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Twins' Mitch Garver: Beginning rehab assignment

Garver (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Pensacola on Monday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Garver has been out just shy of two weeks with a high ankle sprain. He could be back with the Twins as soon as this weekend if his rehab assignment goes well.

  • Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Out of lineup

Vazquez is not in the lineup Monday against Cleveland.

Vazquez is hitting .383/.393/.550 over his last 17 games. Sandy Leon gets the call behind the plate in his absence.
