Garver is out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Garver heads back to the bench following three consecutive starts, during which he went 2-for-9 with four strikeouts. With Jason Castro (concussion) and Miguel Sano (shin) on the disabled list, Garver should be in store for semi-regular work at either catcher or designated hitter until one of the two players is activated.

McCann is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

After going 1-for-10 during his previous three starts, McCann will give way to John Hicks behind the plate for Sunday's game against Lucas Giolito and the White Sox. Expect to see McCann back in the starting nine Monday against the Rockies.

Vazquez is not in the lineup Sunday against Orioles, Evan Drellich of CSN New England reports.

Vazquez continues to split time behind the plate with fellow catcher Sandy Leon. Despite the fact that he's hitting .341 during the month of August, Vazquez will concede the start to Leon for the sixth time in the past nine games.

Perez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Indians, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Perez will receive his second game off in the past six days since returning from the disabled list Aug. 22. The 27-year-old is 3-for-15 with seven strikeouts in his past four starts. He'll give way to Drew Butera behind the plate Sunday.

Perez went 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk and two RBI in Saturday's win over the Royals.

The 28-year-old has been on a nice roll of late, hitting safely in four straight games with two homers and nine RBI over that span. He started August on a 2-for-17 slide and he still plays second fiddle to Yan Gomes, but this recent run could earn Perez a bit more playing time in the immediate future.

Gomes is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.

Despite going 2-for-4 in Friday's win over the Royals, Gomes will head to the bench after starting three of the past four games at catcher. Roberto Perez will take over behind the dish in his stead.

Stassi landed on the 10-day DL with left hand inflammation prior to Friday's game against the Angels.

It's not clear when Stassi injured his hand, but the 26-year-old will spend some time on the shelf while recovering from this minor injury. With the return of Evan Gattis (concussion) in a corresponding move, it's unlikely that Stassi will see too much time on the field during the rest of the season, but he will likely serve as the third catcher upon his return.

Sanchez has been suspended four games for his role in Thursday's brawl with the Tigers, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Major League Baseball will punish Sanchez with both a suspension and a fine for throwing punches. While the video speaks for itself, Sanchez will appeal the suspension regardless in hopes of having it reduced. He's listed in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Seattle, catching and batting third against lefty Ariel Miranda.

Vazquez is not in Friday's lineup against the Orioles, WEEI.com's Evan Drellich reports.

Vazquez will give way to Sandy Leon for the second straight game, and fifth time in the last seven contests. Since July 29, Vazquez is hitting .412/.455/.627 with two home runs and seven RBI, and figures to be back in the lineup for Saturday's affair.

McCann went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and three runs scored in Thursday's win over the Yankees. He also got a scare when he took a Dellin Betances fastball to the helmet, but he remained in the game.

Betances hit McCann with a 98 mph fastball in the seventh inning, and McCann remained on the ground for a few moments. After the benches had already cleared in a wild brawl an inning earlier, the beaning brought both benches onto the field again, though there was no second brawl. McCann stayed in the game and got the last laugh when he launched his home run in the eighth inning. Getting hit in the head is always a serious matter, so even though he remained in the game, McCann will likely get evaluated further and could get some time off in the near future.
