  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Homers in loss

McMahon went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in 12-6 loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

McMahon took Ian Kennedy for a ride to tally his 16th home run 62nd RBI of the season. He has now homered in consecutive starts after doing deep twice against the Diamondbacks on Friday. McMahon is slashing .250/.323/.571 in September and could be on the precipice of his first 20-homer season if he can continue to flex his power stroke down the stretch.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Goes deep twice

Suarez went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk in an 8-7 win against the Braves on Sunday.

Suarez walked in the first inning, swatted a solo home run in the fifth and blasted a walkoff solo shot in the ninth off Atlanta closer Kenley Jansen. The 31-year-old has been on a tear of late with five long balls in his last four contests while batting 6-for-17 during the stretch. Suarez has now hit the 30-homer benchmark in four of his last five seasons.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Two homers in loss

Anderson went 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBI in a 9-3 loss Sunday against the Mets.

Anderson hit a solo homer in the fourth off Taijuan Walker and added a two-run shot in the eighth off Seth Lugo. It was his first two-homer game since knocking three out of the park Sept. 18, 2020. Entering play Sunday, he was 10-for-78 in his last 23 games and his OPS had fallen from .744 to .662. The two home runs Sunday brought his OPS up to .688 and gave him eight long balls on the season.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Slugs grand slam

Bregman went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and an additional run scored in Sunday's victory over the Angels.

After Mauricio Dubon led off the third inning with a homer, the Astros loaded the bases for Bregman, and he capitalized by launching a grand slam to right field. The round tripper was his first since Aug. 28 and his 21st on the season. The four RBI give Bregman 82 on the season, good for fifth among third basemen, and with two runs scored on the day, he has 84, which sits second among third basemen.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Absent from Sunday's lineup

Wisdom isn't starting Sunday against the Giants.

Wisdom was reinstated from the injured list Saturday but didn't appear in the team's loss to San Francisco. Alfonso Rivas will start at first base and bat seventh Sunday.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Gets another day off

Reds manager David Bell said Senzel was withheld from the lineup for Sunday's series finale in Milwaukee to get more time off to work on his swing, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. "We're going to take it one day at a time, but I did want to give him a step back in order to have some freedom to work on some things in the cage and then out on the field," Bell said of Senzel, who was one of two Reds players who took batting practice prior to Sunday's game.

Senzel, who also sat out Saturday's 5-1 loss, will get two days off to work on his swing while he endures a prolonged rough patch at the plate. Since the All-Star break, Senzel has hit .202 with a .505 OPS, numbers that have made it tough for the Reds to justify including him in the lineup on an everyday basis even in the midst of a non-contending season. Senzel still looks to have a hold on the Reds' everyday center-field gig for now, but he could lose work to Aristides Aquino and/or Stuart Fairchild down the stretch if his slump continues to linger into the upcoming week.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Ends two-game absence

Muncy (knee) will serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter and No. 5 batter in Sunday's game against the Padres.

He'll step back into the starting nine for the series finale following a two-game hiatus due to a minor left knee injury. Muncy received an injection to alleviate pain in the knee, so it's possible the Dodgers limit him to a DH-only role for a few games to avoid a flareup down the stretch that might sideline him for a longer period of time.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Gets breather Sunday

Moncada is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Moncada will get a breather for the first time since he returned to the lineup Tuesday following a stint on the 15-day injured list due to a hamstring strain. Josh Harrison will check in at third base in place of Moncada, who went 8-for-24 with two home runs, two walks, a double, five RBI and five runs in his first five games back in action.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Absent from Sunday's lineup

Arenado is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Arenado is mired in a 6-for-34 (.176) slump, so he will get a day off after starting 14 straight games. Brendan Donovan will man the hot corner in Arenado's place.

  • Ryan Kreidler 3B | MIN

Tigers' Ryan Kreidler: Back in lineup Sunday

Kreidler is starting at third base and batting ninth in Sunday's game against the Royals.

Kreidler got Saturday's game off but will now be starting for the eighth time in the last nine contests. The Tigers are clearly wanting to take a look at the rookie, who is slashing .250/.321/.417 early in his career. Jeimer Candelario heads to the bench after starting at third Saturday.
