Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Riding pine Wednesday

Castro isn't starting Wednesday against the Reds.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Triples in three-hit effort

Ramirez went 3-for-6 with a triple and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Rays.

Ramirez went just 1-for-12 against the Rangers last weekend, but he bounced back Tuesday with his first multi-hit effort in seven games. The triple was his first extra-base hit since Sept. 17. The third baseman has cooled ever so slightly recently, but he still owns a .277/.354/.515 slash line with 28 home runs, 18 stolen bases, 119 RBI, 86 runs scored, 42 doubles and five triples through 150 games this year.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Powers offense in win

Jung went 3-for-4 with two home runs, two runs and five RBI in a 5-0 win against the Mariners on Tuesday.

Jung was responsible for all five Texas runs Tuesday, connecting on a solo home run in the second inning, an RBI single in the sixth and a three-run homer in the eighth to provide valuable insurance. The 24-year-old has recorded multiple hits in each of his last two contests, batting 5-for-8 with a double and two long balls to up his season line to .227/.250/.515 across 16 games. His slugging is propped up by five of his 15 leaving the yard.

Giants' J.D. Davis: Tallies three more hits

Davis went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-2 win against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Davis singled in the first inning, connected on a solo home run off Colorado starter German Marquez in the fourth and singled again in the ninth. The 29-year-old continued a strong September with multiple hits for the second straight game as he's 7-for-9 with a pair of homers and doubles apiece over his last two contests.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Crushes 22nd home run

Bregman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory over the Diamondbacks.

The Astros smacked three home runs in the sixth inning, including back-to back shots from David Hensley and Alex Bregman. The long ball was Bregman's first since Sept. 11 and 22nd of the season. He also added a base hit on the day, improving his season-long slash line to .263/.370/.462 through 148 games.

Twins' Jose Miranda: Three hits, RBI in win

Miranda went 3-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

Miranda singled and scored in the first inning before ripping an RBI double off Lance Lynn in the bottom of the third frame. He later added another single later in the contest. The three-hit performance was his third consecutive game with multiple hits -- he's gone 8-for-14 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored over that stretch. Miranda is now batting .273 with 15 homers, 65 RBI, 44 runs and a stolen base over 117 games this season.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Faces live pitching

Rendon (wrist) batted against minor-league pitchers Tuesday and could do so again Wednesday or Thursday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Interim manager Phil Nevin said the third baseman "felt good" after Tuesday's session as the Angels determine whether it's feasible for the veteran to play during the closing stages of the season. Rendon's return is complicated by the fact he must first serve a five-game suspension -- stemming from his involvement in a June brawl with the Mariners -- before being able to play in games, and time is running out with only eight games left on the schedule.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Managing knee issue

Urias left Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with right knee discomfort, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Urias went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a triple before he suffered the injury while running the bases. The 28-year-old will continue to be evaluated and can be considered day-to-day until the team provides specifics on the injury.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Exits with leg injury

Urias was removed from Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with an apparent right leg injury, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Urias went 3-for-3 and was a double short of the cycle when he suffered the injury while running to third base after his fifth-inning single. It's a tough break for the 28-year-old, who was in the midst of his second straight multi-hit game. He should be considered day-to-day until more information is available on the injury.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Back from injured list

Suarez (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and will bat cleanup as the designated hitter Tuesday versus the Rangers.

The 31-year-old will end up missing only the 10-day minimum due to a small fracture in the tip of his right index finger. The injury remains bothersome when throwing the ball, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com, so Suarez could be limited to serving as the designated hitter for a bit.
