Tigers' Nick Maton: Crushes three-run shot

Maton went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer in Monday's win over the Brewers.

Maton singled in the first inning to snap an 0-for-21 skid before ripping a three-run homer in the third. He's up to four home runs this season alongside a .154/.257/.369 slash line through 74 plate appearances. Maton picked up his first extra-base hit since April 14.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Getting day off Monday

Arenado is not in the Cardinals' lineup Monday in San Francisco, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Arenado is in the middle of a 5-for-32 slide at the plate, so he'll get a day off to regroup. Brendan Donovan will be at third base, with Tommy Edman covering second base and Paul DeJong playing shortstop.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Athletics' Jace Peterson: Sitting against lefty

Peterson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

The lefty-hitting Peterson will take a seat with southpaw Jose Suarez on the bump for the Angels. Aledmys Diaz will start at third base with Peterson on the bench.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Angels' Gio Urshela: Takes seat Monday

Urshela is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Urshela will take a seat against the Athletics on Monday after going 2-for-11 in the three-game series against the Royals. Luis Rengifo will hit seventh and play second base with Brandon Drury hitting sixth while handling first base.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Scratched due to illness

McMahon has been scratched from the Rockies' lineup Monday in Cleveland due to an illness, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Mike Moustakas will slide into the lineup in his place. McMahon should be ready to return to the starting nine in a day or two.

  • Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH

Tigers' Tyler Nevin: Back on bench versus righty

Nevin is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Nevin had started in three of the Tigers' past four games -- all against right-handed pitchers -- but he'll head back to the bench for Monday's series opener. With Javier Baez moving past a minor finger injury and Zach McKinstry swinging a hot bat of late to at least temporarily earn himself more reps against right-handers, Nevin may have to settle for a short-side platoon role in the Detroit infield.

  • Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA

Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Heads to bench Monday

Peraza is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.

Peraza will take a seat after going 2-for-12 with a pair of walks, two RBI, two runs and a stolen base while starting each of the past four games. Though he's on the bench for Monday's series opener in Minnesota, Peraza could have a path to fairly regular playing time until the Yankees get one of their three banged-up everyday players -- Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring), Josh Donaldson (hamstring) and Harrison Bader (oblique) back from the 10-day injured list.

  • Michael Busch 1B | CHC

Dodgers' Michael Busch: Headed to big leagues

Busch is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

He's taking the roster spot of Max Muncy, who was placed on the paternity list. Busch has posted a .967 OPS with two home runs at Oklahoma City this season after submitting an .881 OPS with 32 dingers between Double-A Tulsa and Oklahoma City in 2022. He'll be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game, although Busch could be in store for a short stay when Muncy returns before the weekend.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Going on paternity leave

The Dodgers are expected to place Muncy on the paternity list Tuesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Muncy can be away from the club for up three games. With the Dodgers set to begin a homestand Friday versus the Cardinals, Muncy will most likely remain in Los Angeles while the team completes its road trip with a three-game set in Pittsburgh. Muncy leads the majors with 11 home runs so far this season.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Getting day off

Henderson is not in the Orioles' lineup for Monday's game versus the Red Sox, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Henderson has scuffled against both righties and lefties this season, but his struggles versus southpaws has been more pronounced with a .489 OPS. He'll take a seat Monday with the Red Sox throwing left-hander Chris Sale. Ramon Urias will be at third base and Adam Frazier will get a start at second base versus a lefty.
